I've never looked into it myself, but anyone know what all exactly is in an aftermarket HID kit? Like do they use upgraded headlight assemblies, or do you just get special bulbs, the ballast, and the wiring? See, my reasoning is that there's lots of similiarities in the wiring between '03-'04 Navigators and the new F-Series...and Navigators, certain ones, come with HIDs. Which just might make for a factory available plug in HID setup. If not now, then maybe a year or two down the road when Lincoln Mark LTs hit the dealers.

Radiation, in this case, is light and probably won't help/cause a tumor.

The Sylvania Xenarc kit (which was for late model F-Series vehicles, includes two new headlight assemblies (as they are needed for projection of the new kind of light), new heavier duty wiring, a new ballast, and, naturally, new HID bulbs. It is 'true HID'.

One of the concerns that I had when I was upgrading my system was focusing the light and thus, I didn't go with an add-on system (which typically includes most of the above without assemblies)...

The 2005 Lincoln Mark LT is going to have HID's optional and the entire headlight assembly will be a direct replacement.

... they are going to be expensive to buy from the dealer though.

Either way we're still going to be looking at over $1000... probably more like $1500+.

Pfft...I probably won't be able to hook myself up. baja150 probably ain't too far off...lenses and ballasts alone would probably be close to a grand. It'd still be pretty sweet to have 'em. I never understood why Ford didn't offer HIDs as an option on these trucks. I mean, you could get them on a $20,000 SVT Focus, but not on a $30K+ F150? Blah.

maybe, maybe not. they headlight housing may be a different shape just as Navigators and Expeditions look a little different.

If it works, great. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

I dunno about direct replacement. I do know that the wiring will probably be very similar, which might make a retrofit that much easier.

Yes it will be a direct replaement.

I've converted a few F-150 front ends to Lincoln Mark LT's for crash testing purposes. Wiring plugs right in too.
