Question Bench or Bucket seats for your 04?

Bucket seating means you have a center consol, which usually leads to rattling after some wear and tear. Also I have noticed on some models, the shifter is in the center consol area, which I do not like at all. The best part of having bench seats, your woman can sit right next to you and fool around while you drive!

Do you guys prefer bucket or bench seats, and what are the pros and cons with the 04 F150?

Thanks, soon to be a proud 04 owner

Black leather buckets in my FX4...and I LOVE 'EM! They look like seats out of a European sedan...the salesman said that Ford is using Volvo seats in the F-150...anyone else heard that?

I got bench seats. I like having the extra room on the front floor.

I guess I have what you would call the Bench seat. The center folds down for a console/cupholder. It is great for a regular cab, but for any other cab I would say go with the center console option. The so called bench seat has a seperate 20% section in the center that doesn't recline so if you go that route your GF won't be too comfortable when sitting next to you. However, the drivers and passenger seats in all F150's are the same. Just different materials covering them. They may call them captains chairs but it is just marketing hype.

bucket seats by far.... looks better than a bench seat IMO.... besides if you want your girl to "fool around" make her bend on over that center console and yanno + =

Bench. Better use of space. I'm greiving enough not having a manual-that center shifter is just a tease and a bit like fake anything!

To be more precise, the question should be: what console do you prefer...the seats are all the same except for the covering.

Where did you buy the aftermarket leather seats and how much did they set you back?

Thanks. Since I already paid quite a bit for my leather buckets, I doubt I will spend the extra cash.

Grimalkin is right. The seats are exactly the same. Just depends on if you want the console and I didn't. I love it without it. I can put my cooler on the floor between me and the passenger.

So you have captains chair's but no center console?

I've never seen one with that configuration... cool..
Do the captain's chairs have armrests?
