Everybody thinks the competition is broken

I continually read up on some of the other forums to check out the other trucks and see what guys are doing with them (offroading). Lately I have been preoccupied with the Titan Talk forum because they seem to always be butting heads with this forum and the F150. Mostly what I have noticed is we both tend to bash the others ride like we give a crap about em. Also be both seem to think that the other is having major problems and every truck that comes off the line falls right off its wheels. Probably because the majority of info we gather from these sites are problems for the few and far between but when compiled on a site like this it looks like all of us are having major issues with our trucks. Anyways not trying to ruffle and feathers among the hot headed ones but this is a good read. I dont know if the guy is a troll or if he just gave his opinion but you notice how people react to someone calling their baby ugly or cheap, or how nasty (like we sometimes get) these guys can be when someone says F150 is a nice truck. Read on, enjoy. Try to keep calm and not get RP to close the thread. And dont Troll! It takes to long to get them back off our site. lol

Oh for the love of pete...

To each his own. I love the bashing from all sides of the fence. like I posted over in the titantalk forum: they are as bad as we (Ford/Chevy/DC) owners are when it comes to pride in their truck and bashing the others. It's never going to end. I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing, but their owners really seem to like them and the drivetrain (I asked over there). To each his own...

I agree 100%.
Its still an interesting read because now I think my truck is falling apart and cant get out of its own way! lol
The reliability, drivetrain and quality comments get me going. I wanted to make a post over there but I didnt want to stir the bees nest. Not bashing just making a comment, but its their turf, so whatever.

I agree with EddyG88. It ain't worth posting over there. I found this guy to be hilarious. This guys is so full of ***** the whites of his eyes are brown. Let's do the math. The approximate size of an F-150 is 12 ft x 6 ft. The approxmiate area the truck covers is then 72 sq ft. So if you park 30,000 F-150s bumper to bumper with no space in between (be sure to fold the mirrors in too!), they will cover 2,160,000 sq ft which is equal to about 50 acres (43,560 sq ft per acre). now if you give them about 2 ft on each side so that you can actually walk between the trucks, the number gets up to about 110 acres (16 x 10 ft spots for each truck). And that doesn't include a drive way or two to get these 30,000 F-150s in and out of the parking lot. funny, I don't recall seeing over 100 acres of F-150s being worked on. I recall seeing about 1000 F-150s waiting to be shipped in some pictures, but 30,000?

and by the way, those 30,000 F-150s were probably sold in 2 weeks. how long did it take them to sell 30,000 Titans?

I am not loyal to any brand over another. I do hate it when people spew bull***** out of their asses just to look smart and tear down someone else or their product. If you don't know, just say it, don't make crap up just to sound smart.

I have owned 6 new Fords in the last ten years alone!!! And still do have one currently. Your statements are so far off track when you compare the two trucks! First off If you did your research? You whould find that the Ford has had TON'S of problems!! And BIG one's at that. It's also been my experence that Ford tends to rush there trucks into the market place before they really should! If you search the web sites you can find these problems with thier 2004 f150. Last summer when I was looking at buying a truck,I looked at the new ford f150. And saw on many web sites that Ford had BIG Problems with there FRAMES CRACKING! They also had alot of problems with the Cylander Heads and Valve Train Ect... They had PICTURES of over 30,000 trucks sitting in a Field! That they had to FIX!! They had to find a big place in Virginia to store these! On the WEB they showed pic's with all there hood's up and someone working in the engine compartments! They had to find and pay gard's,and hook up lighting to watch the trucks! Many poeple that work at the plants were posting on many web sites of possiable lay-off at there plants! Now when you compare the Nissan to the ford! The ford just dose Not match up!! Nissan is having way fewer problems and they are all little one's!!!! The ford is NOT put togather better then the NISSAN! When you take the top of the line trucks fully loaded!! The Ford just dosn't compare!!! There are so many things you can get on the Nissan that you just can't get on the ford!!! Like the DVD/Sunroof, with ford it's one or the Other! Nissan gives you BOTH! Not to mention that you cant get the following either on the fords, Roof air bags- memory Mirrors/ pedals/ seats,Cinema style sound/ with Dual Media Playback/ Navigation System/Vehicle Dynamic Control/ Brak Assist/5 Speed tranny/ Trans Temp. gauge/ Extendable Wide angle Mirrors/ Utili-Track system with Accessories/climate-resistant outside lock box/lighted box near tailgate/ 12-volt outlet in the box/ Sprayed on Bedliner/ P285/70R Tires/ Standard Heated front seats/ Ect!!! And to top it all off the Electronic Locking Diff soon will be available! These two trucks when you price them out are with in $1000.00 of each other! There is just NO WAY the FORD MATCHS UP!!! And like I said I USED to be a Ford guy but Not any More!!! Just driving the two trucks theres no way the Ford's Even close to the NISSAN!! I think you need to Re-Look at this Agian!!!

The people over there that say with certainty that the nw F-150 has major problems and they're sure of it - obviously are biased and have that classic 'mine is better than yours' mentality. You can't trust or listen to people like that. They remind me of guys I know at work that tell outrageous car stories...about how they went this fast or did this or did that...and all you can do is roll you eyes because you know they're full of crap. There are people like that on Ford forums, Chevy forums, etc. They're everywhere.
Most cars/trucks built today aren't total turds. They all have their problems now and then. Length of time before things start to realy fail at an unacceptable rate is another story.

The biggest difference between cars/trucks today is simply the ride, looks, power and overall comfort. I doubt I would have bought a Nissan even if I wanted one, just because of the price. I got a nice Lariat $700 below the X Plan price. I doubt I could get that good of a deal with Nissan or Toyota. My total was $29,163 (before taxes) on a $35,595 truck. Nowhere near the $40k that guy was talking about spending. I got top of the line model Ford makes (Lariat), several options, 4x4, etc....not at all stripped down. I can't see paying $40k (and most importantly, neither could my wife!).

Ultimately (like other people with sense have said), buy whatever you want and be happy. It's one thing to have a polite debate about capabilities and so on, but when people get down into the 'mine is better than yours' remarks...just because they say it is and that's that....well, that's just childish.

I got my Lariat screw 4x4 for like 31k (MSRP of a smidge under 39k). You can't get that much truck in a Titan for that $$. F-150 are very competitive in the bang-for-your-buck dept.

Brew - I was thinking the same think but didn't take the time do actually do the math!! That's great!

Last time I posted over there I got branded as a troll. But I used my same name & sig... I wasn't hiding.. hardly a troll!!

dzervit, I'd say you were a troll, but not one of those fuzzy haired pansy-*** trolls. more like a troll that hides under a bridge and punches you in the mouth with his billy club when you try to cross his bridge. certainly not your average troll, but I bet you were looking for a good fight. it's all good.

These people are unbelieveable, Of course youre going to "protect" your brand, but notice they cant even let it go. That post is one big Bash Fest. Theres so many lies and BS going on, take a look at this one

I think the new F-150 are nice vehicles, but they are not problem free, unfortunately. I came back from a 4 hour drive and I saw not 1 but 2 different new F-150s getting set up to be towed on the side of the road. That is not a good sign. Yes there are a lot of them on the road, but 2 in a four hour period? I have no idea what was wrong with them, but they were not in an accident.

From the sounds of it Ford really increased the quality/reliabilty in the new F-150, but there are ones out there that are having problems just like some Titans are.

From the looks of it, you will be very happy in your problem free F-150

Alright, Two F150s on the side of the road? Doubtful, MAJORLY doubtful, ive never once had an issue with my f150's

Hey guys, I typically just read these thread and never post a reply. I do find them entertaining (dezervit). I suppose the looks thing is subjective, I'm just glad I'm conservative and own a truck that looks like a truck. While the titan has a truck bed from the front door forward I'm still trying to figure out what this is supposed to look like?? I just laugh and shake my head when I'm over at the titan forum and I see a post by this guy called " california titan" all that plastic chrome just looks cheap IMO.

The way I look at it is this. I don't care if they titan is built in America with good ol' boy sweat and blood the company that builds the ugly things has a home office in the Pacific ocean. I guess I shouldn't say this considering how long ago it was, but I had a great unlce in the air force during ww2 and he said his only regret about the war was they only made 2 of "those bombs". That generation of America is quickly dying off now and while for the past 20 years its became harder and harder to "buy American" the men/women of that time frame tried there hardest to buy American and nothing more. I don't care if I can get all these extra bells and whistles on the Titan and no matter how much the titan boys say there "small radio problems" is nothing compared to our "major" drive train problem. I for one value my country and try to support it the best I can. No I can't say I buy only American products and yes I realize that alot of the parts on the F150 are made over seas, atleast the money ends up back in Detroit City USA!

Think about this, I'm sure we all here remember what happened on 9-11-01, though I think some Americans have already forgoten (not trying to start a political battle here). Ok so in 20 years I'll be 62, I will cringe if by that time I see Americans buying automobiles from the Al-Qudia. I'm sure that doesn't make much since, but just think about it and let it sink in a bit.

For those titan guys that are reading this, I do have some what of an education. I graduated from the University of Georgia magna *** lade, so all us Ford guys aren't totally uneducated.

let me revise my numbers actually. the average F-150 is more like 19 x 6.5 ft, not 12 x 6 ft as I originally estimated.

so, that means that each truck takes up 123.5 sq ft and if we give 2 ft on either side to be able to walk in between them, that means each truck takes up 23 x 10.5 ft, or 241.5 sq ft. multiply by 30,000, and that's 166 acres without any drive ways. yeah, right...
