Unhappy I have to sell my Super Crew Lariat

Well, after 7,000 wonderful miles my truck has to be sold.. I just bought a house in a development that does not allow pickup trucks!

The home owners association says if you own a truck it must be parked in your garage at all times.

Not a chance on this thing fitting in that tiny garage.

I really love this truck and hate that I have to part with it so soon.
But the family likes the new house idea better than living in the back of the truck. This totally sucks!

So If you know of anyone that is looking for a fully loaded 4x4 Supercrew Lariat. Please email me at giovanni073@yahoo.com

What kind of community doesn't allow a 35K+ truck parked outside? One I wouldn't want to live in. Could you have a piece of junk CAR sitting outside? I don't get it.

There’s a sh*t load of housing communities here in FL that have that regulation. It’s a homeowners association thing.

You're kidding right? Have they seen your machine? That's absolutely ridiculous!

I say keep it anyway. The HOA can't do anything to you. Do you have a copy of the bylaws? I'd like to see them. Unless the city backs them up, they don't have a leg to stand on.

All that’s included in the contract when you buy into the community. It’s enforceable, believe me, I’ve seen it happen to a friend of mine. His solution was to park in the garage after dark.

Trust me I have looked it over. Iit is something that has been in effect for over 10 years. If you park it there they can fine you and if you don't pay the fines they can put a lien on your house.

I can see a work truck with signs on the side of it not allowed, but come on, this is like an SUV with a open trunk.

Up here in Maine, I don't think you can move into a community without a pick up truck.

My god I hate people... that is one thing you really have to be aware of are those INSANE deed restrictions and homo-owners ****-sostiations rules. I would sell my house, or if that's not an option, sell your F-150 and other vehicles, then purchase TWO EXCURSIONS and NEVER put them in the garage just to spite them. BUt that's just me. I'd also read over the contract, but I bet it doesn't say you can't LIFT your vehicle, since they don't allow trucks. I'd then lift one of the Excursions, put the most obnoixious exhaust on, and a remote start so I can let it run for 20 minutes every morning or before I left.

When the bastards WHINE and CRY about your vehicles, tell them since you were denied the RIGHT to have a nice QUIET LUXURY truck, you decided to get the monster SUVs (since they are allowed). If they want, they can vote on the laws and remove the assinine law about no trucks. ***** F&$*#(@ AARRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

I hate people...

Great, my blood pressure is up about 50 pts.

Simple solution,

Move to a different part of the city that allows trucks... There have to be nice houses somewhere else, doesn't there?

That is pathetic, if you ask me?

The hoa needs to pick up a prescription for some valium and get over themselves...but then on second thought why would you want to live in a community with such pretentious fools anyhow.
Unless they just woke up yesterday, this is America. A community without a truck in the driveway is a community without soul...... Trucks and especially pick up trucks are responsible for getting the crew and materials there too build their precious little place. You need to move away from that before they tell you your birthday is actually in a different month .... ect. ect. ect.

I hope no one gets offended by this, but 70% of Floridians were not born in FL, they move here from Northern states. NY & NJ especially. The guy that moved in two doors down from me is from NY, and all I hear from him is how “it’s better up north”, and “that’s how we do it up north”, it’s a hoot. You must accept the fact; it’s a control issue for these homeowner associations.

A lot of A*S kissing goes on between the members of the board.

Have you tried it?

I have a 1960's era two car garge, but with two one car garage doors on it. It is amazing, but the thing fits just fine. Go to Ford's site and look at it height measurement for your truck - it will be dead on (and yours is lower than my SC, I think). I give passengers heart attacks when I pull in the garage, but I fit!

Set the garage door so it opens all the way, and I bet you fit OK.

Length is another issue, but my garage is deep and I have about 4 feet to spare in that direction. Most new garages will fit the truck length wise - as so many folks buy SUVs today.

Brad

PS Fold in the mirrors the first time you try it!

PSS Too many lawyers in the world, but the deed restriction is very likely enforceable, as it was on the deed when you bought the house and chose to build - there is likely no legal remedy.

That really sucks. Is it possible to petition the HOA for an exemption. It isn't like you will be parking a construction or gardeners truck in the driveway. If I was forced to sell my truck, I would make it my lifes work to be a thorn in the side of the HOA for everyone who even pushed the rule from now until hell freezes over!
