Spark Knock/Ping?

OK, the wife and I went to Lowe's last night to get a grill. She's driving because of my broken ankle. I've got my window down and I hear it. Sounded like to me a spark knock. My 99 dodge had this and as soon as I heard it, it was like a flash back. Kinda gave me the chills because it was really annoying with the dodge. Now I have the same noise with this truck. No that I have heard it, I am very aware of it.

The only thing that is different is that the dodge only did it under a load. The ford just does it all the time. This is maybe (hopefully) making me think that it might be something different.

It pings once, then nothing for like 15 seconds and then does it again. This is a repeating pattern every 15 seconds whether under a load or cruising on the highway.

Anyone else? Help!!

I also apparently have the wavy windshield problem. It must be down low because I can't see it but the wife can. I asked her to please not point it out to me because I don't wanna know where it's at.

Might be the fuel rails you hear. The injectors are really loud on this engine.

I thought the same thing when I first heard it on mine. Im pretty sure what you're hearing is the Air Conditioning "cycling" Try driving with the windows down and the AC off and you won't hear it....then turn it on....you'll see what I mean. I have that wavy windshield problem too.....will ford replace them under warranty?

If you don’t mind me asking, how is using premium going to stop a perceived A/C ping?
