Question 2004 Ordered... Help with Color!!

Hello All,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I know this may seem like a lame question... but looking for opinions.

I have a 2004 FX4 SCAB on order. I am stuck between two colors... BUT here is the deal. I want the Flareside bed... which dictates the lower rocker (two tone) CX-Shadow Grey coloring.

My first choice was Yellow... but given my propensity to speed... I feel it will cause me to stand out like a sore thumb and get more attention then I desire.

I really want a Metallic vs. a Flat paint. So I am down to The Charcoaly Shadow Grey or the True Blue. The Shadow Grey will obviously NOT show a two tone, the True Blue would have the CX color as the lower rocker panel coloring.

Also note I am going cloth with the Medium Flint.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

ps. My wifes 2004 exploder is a TrueBlue XLT Sport, so it has the lower rocker color in the CX-Shadow Grey. If I did blue we would have twinkie trucks... just a big and small version!

I say go with grey. It was one of my choices, and I think they look slick.

BTW, welcome to the board!

Yeah... I really, really like the Yellow. But... I don't like the fact that it is a Flat Paint... and I am really worried about the "Extra" attention that it brings.

Why is it on order, local dealers have hundreds on their lots ready to go? A quick search of my local dealer revealed 183 F150s; many of them are FX4’s. You get your best price when you buy from dealer inventory.

I have a Screw in True Blue and really like it's color. The only problem is the True Blue does show the dirt.

I would go with the DSG, but I am a little biased. The DSG looks good if you have the black interior because everything is black, gray, and silver.

I have the styleside but, check out "grayflare" gallery for what a DSG SCAB flareside looks like.

Also if you don't want be a beacon on the road with the yellow, get the DSG it blends in with the road really well. Sometimes to well, if you know what I mean. Damn little cars.

I have the True Blue. It's gotten all kinds of compliments. However, I did see an FX4 Flareside SCab a couple weeks ago and it was Silver. It looked G-R-E-A-T! I would suggst that. I am partial to the black interior however.

My 2nd choice would be the Dark Shadow Grey, that is very sophisticated looking.

Personally, I kick myself every day for not getting the limited edition 'Barbie F-150'.
