Question 2005 Pricing

New user, pls be gentle.
When I was a no-account lurker (now reformed), I noticed that some members had already ordered their 2005 F150s. Local dealer told me they didn't have 2005 pricing yet.
Are you guys who ordered 2005s independently wealthy and price was no object or is local dealer mistaken?
If locals are misinformed, who can I tell them to contact so as not to delay ordering this amazing vehicle for me?
Thx for the assist.

When I pre-ordered my 04, the word on the street was that the cost of the 04 would be within a few hundred dollars of the previous year truck (2003).

I'm sure they're saying the same about the 05 at the dealerships.

Really, when a vehicle has an MSRP of $40K, you don't need to be rich to afford another few hundred to a thousand bucks. Then there's the AFTERMARKET, I'm not even going to go there....

The 2004 trucks cost more to make than the previous model. Ford wanted to get them out to market, and ate the difference in price. Don't be surprised when you see this difference in price start to appear in the trucks now that the 2004 run is coming to an end.

Your right - pricing isn't available yet for the '05. Should be real soon though, beginning of July is what I've heard.

I'm also waiting to order an '05 and I don't much see the point in ordering now when I can wait a week or two and get all the details on pricing, options, etc. I know options aren't that different from the '04 but I don't want ANY surprises. I've waited, researched, and saved up a long time for this truck and I know exactly what I want. Would you really get your truck that much sooner if you ordered now? I'd rather be able to build it online and show the dealership exactly what to order. I also plan on letting a couple dealerships compete for my business - they can't match prices if the prices don't exist!

Not gonna happen. As slow as truck sales are, they'll be giving the '05s away as soon as most of the '04s are off the lot.

2005's & rebates

Do you think Ford will come out of the gate with BIG rebates on the 05's or start like they do every year with 500 - 1000 for a feew months and then kick it up to 1500 - 2500?

I'm hoping for a big rebate. It's all I have going for me at the moment.
