Brake Controllers

Can anyone give me some advice on brake controllers? Types, brands, prices and/or vendors. I tried searching brake controllers, but surprisingly nothing came up.

Any help would be appreciated.

What is the OEM cable for? Where does it go to/from?

My truck had a harness in the glovebox. What is this harness for?

The OEM plug is to hardwire the brake controller to the plug. Then plug the controller under the dash, making it removable.
