Are we all talking about the same mufflers here? Magnaflow makes many sizes and shapes of mufflers, e.g. the 5X8 ovals come in 14", 18", and 22" lengths and there are several round versions in varying lengths.

Most of those posting here have specifically mentioned the 15821/15827 systems, but some don't ID which Magnaflow model they're referring to.

My personal experience with a split dual rear system on a '97 5.4 is that it was only slightly louder than OEM with NO DRONING. The FIPK was louder than the exhaust.

He has the 15821 cat back system. Can anyone else with this system comment on interior drone? Why would his system cause the drone and others with the same system don't have the drone???

I have a Magnaflow part # 11266 it is a 4”x 9” oval with 2 ½” inlet/outlet and the body is 14”long. It’s not loud; it sounds good like a V8 should!

I installed the 15827 (SIDO) with it exiting in front of passenger tire. No interior drone at idle. It gets louder when I get on the gas but no where near what PaintMD is describing. At cruising speeds (60-80) I can hear the exhaust in the cab, but barely. I can talk to people in the back seat with no problems. I love it the exhaust. I live in philly and everyone and their brother has dual exhaust straight out the back. The exit in front of the rear looks sweet and sounds awesome.

2004 FX4 Screw Dark Shadow Gray 3.73 Ls, Power Moonroof, PS Rear Window, Power Pedals, Tow Package, Heated Mirrors, Captains Chairs, 18" Wheels, tinted front windows to match the rear, carbon fiber emblem overlays, front back, and steering wheel, Magnafllow 15827 installed

It cost me about a $100. bucks for the muffler, two feet of 2 1/2" pipe and labor at my local muffler shop.

That’s true, the smaller the muffler the louder. I have the 4x9” oval with a 14” body & 2½ inlet/outlet. It’s surprisingly not that loud when you take in to consideration that you can see straight through it. Obviously it’s in the design and engineering of the Magnaflow.

Sale?

Could you send pics?

cvisocsky@50below.com

Also, did you stick this unit on yourself? Was it difficult?
My specs are below, and am curious how hard it is for a self install. Any and all comments/help is greatly appreciated.
