Whats new for 2005?

Unless I get some news here I will be buying a new truck tomorrow. According to the 05 order guide, the tranny is still the same (no 5 speed yet) and still only two choices for leather interior colers. I've heard that there will be a tie down system and outside storage like the Titans. Neither of which is a big deal to me.

Is anyone here aware of anything else? SCrewbuilder, feel free to speak up.

There's an optinal chrome-plated front bra so it will look like a Titan. And then there's the optional Hemi-transmission which will automatically tell you it needs servicing by it's unique smoke alert system. Plus the sales department will issue an Chevy-inspired option list of useless features that's a mile long.

Hang tight for the 6.2L...

I'm waiting to buy until '06 solely for that new awesome engine.

No 5 (or 6) speed in the '05 is a major disappointment.

Not for me. Considering the 2004 F150 has a differnt tranny than the previous year model and I bought a 2004 FX4, I would hate to think that I bought a truck that had a transmission that was a one year only model!

Did anyone hear anything about either Sirius or XM being standard in the 05?

On the whole XM radio bit, I was on travel last week and my rental car (Mustang) had Sirius in it, and all I have to say is it SUCKED! I would never pay for that service. The entire time it was cutting in and out like a CD skipping. Not to mention I lost the damn signal under every bridge and through dense wooded areas. No thanks! Is it based on the unit you buy or anything like that? Because if you ask me its not worth the money.

Buy an 04!

According to Blue Oval News, Ford is cutting the sound insulation from under the hood and around the transmission on the 05 XLT, XL, and STX models, so unless you're looking to buy a Lariat Model, the cabin noise could increase in the 05 Models!

Really? XM radio sucked? You can't be Sirius.

(Just a joke.)
