How do you think these would look on an '04?
Maybe this post belongs in an accessories forum, but since it's '04 specific, I thought I'd post it here first. I just got a Dark Shadow Grey FX4 SuperCrew and I need some steps/nerf bars for it. I found these, and kind of like the looks of them...

In black...

How do you guys think these would look on an '04 SuperCrew? I'm kind of torn between the black and the stainless.
The item description is as follows..
The strength and panel protection of traditionally styled side tube steps are combined with the styling and classy looks of a running board. Steps are designed with a 6" outside-to-outside, flat step radius, 50% more area than regular tube-style steps, for positive, safe footing and constructed from black powder-coated steel for lasting strength and reliability. A full-length, molded OE-style step pad is positioned on the top of the tube for added safety. Black extruded end caps seal the step from moisture and road debris and complement the steps' good looks. No drilling required, specially designed mounting brackets bolt to existing factory holes. Available in Black powder-coated steel (three-year warranty).

I think they look good. Two questions I would ask before putting on my truck, ok three. How Much? Are they going to look like they stick out too far for me (personal preferance)? And Quality? I am not knocking them in any way, I like the looks of them but want them to last as long as my truck.
They look good. Are you getting them from a local dealer or are you ordering them online. I ask because if it’s a local deal, check out the chrome and the black up next to your truck and see what you think looks best. I would go with black; but that’s just because I’m not hot for chrome.
I'm leaning towards black myself. I don't think the stainless model would look bad, but I do like the black just a little better, especially on a grey truck without any chrome. My only concern about the black ones is the possibility of rust (I live in SE Minnesota, where salt is common on the roads during winter). The black ones are $300 (this is from Cabela's...haven't looked elsewhere for them yet)...I think the stainless model is another 30 or 40 bucks.

I see you have the "3M Clear Bra" in your profile. I'm strongly considering this for the front of my truck (at the least the bumper and front edge of the hood). Just curious how you like it and if you don't mind me asking, what does it cost (and where did you find the best price on it)? Thanks much!!!

I’m seeing where they have a five-year warranty on the black powder coat.

How far do they stick out? One of the biggest bitches I have with the 2004 F-150s is the running boards do not stick out far enough. I may try to fabricate something to mount onto the mounts then attach the running borards to that. If I can't find a suitable replacement that will not break the bank.
