Question What do you think of this deal?

I stopped at my local Ford dealership last night, and found a pretty nice price on a loaded 04 FX4 Supercrew...sticker price is $38,500 and their asking price is $31,100. I have a 02 FX4 Lariat Supercrew with just about every option (excluding moonroof) and 39000 miles...it's in excellent condition. The dealer said he'd give me $22000 for my truck. That's a little over Kelly Blue Book value, very close to Edmunds and and a little under black book and NADA. I'm pretty tempted to go through with the deal, but just thought I'd ask what you guys think of this deal. Thanks for any input!

You need to go to the dealer and cut a check right NOW. That's an insane price. It's basically an A-plan price with the rebates they are offering. I doubt you'll see that deal again or anything better.

If you don't post later today that you now own a new F-150, I'm afraid I'll have to drive out to MN and open up a can of whoopass.

ChezHed dont get the truck it's a bad move. Tell you what, tell me where the dealershipis and I will go invetigate. I have a slightly used 04 SCAB i could trade in for that truck. Now give me the name of the dealer and never ever tell anyone about this deal

J/K that sounds like a good deal and the 04 are very nice trucks.

They're holding it for me until after work today, at which point they are letting me take it for a couple of hours so I can drive it a little bit, and take a closer look at it. I gotta bring it back tonight, but if I choose to buy it (which I probably will), they'll hold it until I come in with the $$$ tomorrow or Friday.

Picking it up tomorrow morning!!!

I filled out the paper work tonight and will be picking it up Friday morning. The deal has gotten even a little bit better since my last post. The truck had the P-series 18" tires and I asked if there was any way that they could swap wheels and tires from another truck on the lot that has the LT-series 18" tires. I told the salesman that I would pay the difference, since the LT-series tires are a $200 option. He talked to his sales manager, who told him to go ahead and do it...and they're only charging me for the cost of the labor to switch the wheels/tires (still probably going to be around $50, but much cheaper than the actual option if you were to order a truck that way).

I hate to see my '02 SCrew go, but I'm pretty excited about the '04. I'm going to need to buy a soft-tonneau for it right away. I have an Access Roll-top cover on my '02 and would like one for the new truck. Where have you guys found the best price on this tonneau? If I remember correctly, I got the one for my '03 on eBay for around $340. Thanks!

I got A plan price, and that is better than the price I got, but there were no rebates in March.
