Air Conditioner problem

I wanted to know if anyone has found a way to keep their air conditioner in MAX AC/recycled air mode. Mine will switch back to normal AC after 15 minutes. I hate this because its not only not as cool but you also get outside fumes etc. Has anyone experience this. The manual says that the AC will switch back to normal AC in any modes.

I ran my ac today for the first time and it didn't do that, so i'm
wonderin' if it's a normal thing or if you might have too have it checked. My manual says it'll switch to recycled air automatically when placed on max ac but i don't see where it says it'll turn back.
????

My a/c will stay in rec mode, until either you hit auto again or turn off engine. You might want to get it checked out by the dealer, obviously it is malfunctioning. Had mine in rec mode for over 2 hours today no problem

Guessing you have the climate control on yours. I think there were several people complaining about that awhile back, don't know what they came up with though. I have the regular push button kind and it does not switch off on it's own. If yours is the same I would get it fixed for sure.

I have auto control, but when it's off, and put my recycle botton on and it shuts off after 15 minutes also. Whats up with that? Anybody ever come up with an answer?

Isn't this one of the problems that is solved by taking your truck in and having the PCM reflashed ??? I don't remember. (shrug)

Max AC switching off by itself.

Dupuis,

There are two bulletins dealing with the A/C. First is the computer flash but i don't think is the one that will fix your problem.#2 is to replace the control head. this may be the one to fix it. Check with the ford dealer to find which one is for your truck.
