NASCAR in Dover this weekend

Since Ford is the Official Truck of NASCAR, are there any 2004 F150 owners from this group who are race fans and going to the race in Dover this weekend??

If so, maybe we could get together and crash the party in the Ford Hospitality tent. LOL!!!

Too bad I didn't see your message before the weekend.

We went down for the race on Sunday. I sure was thankful the Delaware state police were kind enough to shut down most of the southbound exits on Rt 1 so I could sit in that traffic jam. We ended up parking at the Value City a couple miles south of the track and caught the shuttle. We made it just in time for the start of the race.

It was sure an exciting race even though it was a little confusing with all the scoring issues. I won't forget this one.

Sorry you had trouble getting in. We were in a motorhome across Leipsic Rd so other than fighting the crowds walking back and forth and going in the gate we didnt have to much trouble.

That was a heck of a race!!! The Busch race on Monday was good too.

Everything happened right in front of us, we were in section 147. I feel bad for the kid Kasey Kahne, NASCAR owes him a win but if anyone else was going to win it, Mark Martin was certainly deserving. He is a class act!!!

If you got there late I guess you missed the drivers intro and parade lap. They had the drivers in the back of all new 2004 F150's. They had them all parked on the harness track in the 3rd turn.

Friday night we went over to watch the live "Trackside" and that was a lot of fun. It was pretty crowded so we couldnt get to close but my Dad did catch a Speed Channel can holder that they were tossing to the crowd.

Take care!!

I'm happy for Mark, he sure has hung on and definately deserves it. Kahne sure is having a heck of a season though.

We were over in section 156 so we were right there in it too.

Unfortunately we're not going to Pocono this weekend with a new baby at home. We usually rent two RV's and get up to the infield the Thursday before and camp for the weekend.

I did notice the Pace Car, er, Truck during the three hundred or so cautions. I was under the impression that a NASCAR Pace Car had to be able to accelerate quickly to clear the track. I heard this years ago from one of the announcers during a race. Maybe I heard wrong, but it does make sense. If this is true, do you suppose that Pace Truck was juiced up? Supercharged maybe? Anyone got a clue?
