For those of you who might be wondering, starting your truck while it is already running....

In my daily ritual of stupidity in the mornings, I was leaving for work, started my truck and ran down to the mailbox and went back to my truck (less that a minute round trip), jumped in and turned the key to start it. Nothing happened. I soon realized that the truck was already running.

I could not believe that I had just done that. So to make sure I didn't imagine it, I did it again and nothing happened again. It's nice that FORD has built in safety measures for people like me. I'm a little dangerous in the morning.

the secret, for me, is to turn the radio and air off when you turn the truck off.

it's weird but sometimes if that stuff is running and i can't hear or feel the truck running, my brain doesn't say the air is on, so the truck must be on. instead, it says oh the air is running and the truck isn't on you'll drain the battery, better start the truck

I think I agree Flowmasters is the answer

That was a feature of the Clifford security system I had put in. I didn't realize Ford already had a built-in system. That's one of those un-recognized, but definately useful features.
