Up here in the great white north we do ours every 5,000 Kilometers or three months which ever comes first.

Most people don't put on a lot of miles unless they are going on holidays.

I dropped off my old 2001 Screw Lariat when I picked up my new 2004 and it only had 40,467 Kilometers on it after over three years of driving it. And 18,000 of those kilometers were driving on two vacations.

this is the only vehicle in my family and drive it to and from work daily.

I agree with that.

Just playing devil's advocate, I would wonder about how valuable a warranty is in the first place, if it can be voided by changing the oil TOO OFTEN.

Yep, that's definitely what I am doing. 500, 3000, 6000, 9000 ...

I will say that I do believe a case can be made for 5000 or even more with full synthetic and/or relocated filters. IMHO, this is doing MUCH MORE than the manual not less and their vehicles are proof.

My response was solely based on the confidence placed in "the manual" and my experience with those that follow or exhort following the manual and the performance life of their vehicles.

Do yall really trust "the manual"? Those that do, have you driven your Ford service tech's high mileage vehicle lately? None of mine are what I would call "Car Guys" and be scared for my life in a 200k vehicle one of them had maintained.

Edmunds maintenance and TSB info for F150 5.4L V8

FYI I noticed this maintenance schedule link says every 3,000 too.

You might have to put in the vehicle again it doesn't seem to save the info very well.

Every 5,000 is for brakes, suspension, etc. servicing.

If someone went Full Sythentic on a 5000 mile schedule I wouldn't really disagree. I'm just saying that doing so because FORD or the manual says so is crazy IMHO. As Ford isn't going to live with your car past 3/36,000 miles or 5/75,000 in my case with an extended warranty.

I do it (myself) every 3k miles.

I ran Mobil1 in my prior truck but so far I like the Motorcraft semi-syn blend.

Cool My first oil change

My first oil change was at 50 miles, my second was at 500 miles, my third was at 1500 miles, I did them all myself. I Just assumed that the Dealer was required to do the change for the warranty at 3000 miles or 3 months. It been almost 4 months and I had approximately 2000 miles when I had them do it. these vehicles aren't cheap or cheap to repair... oil is the grass roots to maintenance ...GG

I did my first at 873 miles... the next will be at 3,000 and then every 3,000 thereafter. I'm using the Motorcraft 5W20 synthetic blend, but I've considered using a full synthetic as well.
