center dash removal.

This is a slightly moronic, but I have yet to figure out how to remove the center of the dash in order to replace the stereo head unit...any one have a diagram, pictures, or instructions...i've looked at it acouple times, i assume its on spring clips, but I don't want to break it. Any help would be apprechiated.

If you open the ashtray, you can grab the bottom of the panel, gently pulling out, and working your way around the sides up to the top. The clips will pop out, just go slow, a little bit at a time. I have removed mine numerous of times.

ScottFcasni did an excellent job with illustrative pictures in this thread:
Full Radio Removal (and XM Install) - Photos & Instructions!
Hopefully, that will help you out.

Good luck,
