The mirrors don't fold down, they fold in toward the window.

that's what I meant ...

how the heck do you fold them in toward the window?

is there a lock to release or something? mine won't budge. I'm afraid I'm gonna rip it off the truck.

I also can't figure out how to get my rear seat back out but I'm less worried about that ... the posts here aren't helping me.

Ok then.

Push hard on the far outside of the mirror . There is no lock or latch but it has to be hard enough so the mirror won't move under normal driving.Just push hard toward the window.

Rear seat back removal is a real chore. The bottom has to come out first and the back is bolted in.There is nothing behind the seat.

Hope this helps

Thanks. I read that thread before and it's just not doing anything for me.

Maybe I'm "just stoopid" damn these child restraint things they look terrible.

It's like the mirrors, I'm just afraid I'm going to break something yanking around on stuff. Or Scratch, Rip, or otherwise destroy.

I'll give it another go in the morning.

If you're just wanting to do away with the child restraint things, it doesn't require the rear seat to be removed. Just take a pair of needle nose pliars and carefully remove the staple from that peice of plastic that is causing the strap to stand staight up. Once the staple is removed the plastic can also be removed and all you have to do is tuck the strap behind the seat.

The mirrors (well, at least mine) fold back and fold forward. If they haven't been moved in a while they may be a little more stuborn than normal.

Also, removing the staples & plastic on the child seat anchors are the way to go. I think Ford tried to make them easily accessible so the little toddlers could strap in their own seats if their lazy parents didn't. There is no other reason to put them in the middle of the window.

Ok, I could probably handle removing a staple without causing harm

update later in the morning ... hopefully I don't break the rear window out LOL

YAY! I got the mirrors folded they just all the sudden broke loose and I worked them back and forth and now they move easily.

I also removed the staple and the plastic so the strap lays down out of the rear-window.

Thanks E1!
