Replacement Air Filters?

Just wondering if anyone has been able to find a replacement paper filter anywhere except the dealer for the new 5.4L 3V?

Pepboys doesn't list anything except for the Heritage. Fram's website has no products listed yet.

I don't want to waste $45 on a drop-in K&N when I plan on getting a CAI kit sometime soon.

I don’t to many people have enough miles on their 2004 trucks to need a replacement filter yet.

I'm used to changing the crappy paper filters with every oil change. I've always heard a clean paper filter flows more than any oil/gauze replacement.

But perhaps I could be persuaded into a K&N or AFE drop-in now that I see the dealer wants $36 for a paper replacement!

Yeah for sure! I was speaking of previous older vehicles I have owned, where the paper filter is only a couple of bucks.

I got my Green filter for $59.95 + shipping from Carolina Classic Trucks . Filter seems to be made very well. Should hold up for a while.

I heard that K & N will have one out this summer for the 2004 150...you should be ok till then...I never changed air filters with each oil change...I change oil filters though...I drive on pavement and don't off road...So its stays very clean as a rule...The ford factory filter is a fair ?? good one that comes with your truck...I kept it for a spare if my K & N filter needs to be cleaned...

From what I understand the 5.4L engine takes the same K&N Filter as the 2003 Lightning did.

There are two 2004 5.4L V8 engines. The 2004 Heritage sports the older 2-valve 5.4L, which is the same 260hp engine as previous years. The 2004 " the new F150" sports a brand new 3-valve, 300hp, 5.4L. This engine is completely new, and totally different from the 2-valve 5.4L.

The fact that the '04 Heritage and the new '04 both have a 5.4L has caused tons of confusion for those of us trying to find aftermarket parts.
