Can the FX4 instruments be put in an XL and work???

I love my reg cab XL 4x4. I bought it to get out of my large and aging Tahoe Z71.

I need a tach. I saw some one else has put an STX cluster in and most everything works the way it should. I really like the looks of the FX4 intrument cluster. I just didn't need all the $$$$$ that went with buying the FX4 package.

Thanks for the help

Love the site. getting a lot of good info here on mods for the truck.

Matt

I don't see why it wouldn't work. All of the wiring should be in the dash already.

If you haven't already, you should take a look at this thread from January, started by Red04 experimenting with changing the instrument cluster in his STX. You'll see in the thread that STXDriver was able to have his dealer replace his STX instrument cluster with an FX4 instrument cluster:

STX gets New Cluster w/ Tachometer

Good luck,
