Cool Truck for hauling my kids around

I currently own a 1993 F150 4X4, standard cab. I am looking to find out the model, year, etc truck I should look for, preferrably F150 but would also consider a 250, that will give me a back seat to place child safety seats. I know that on the older model extended cabs, they were "bench" seats that folded down but were not legal to be used to strap in the car seats. I asked a local Ford Dealer but in their intent to sell me a truck, they were unable to give me a specific model, type to look for.

Thanks

How many kids, and what ages? I have three boys; 5, 3, and 7 months. I've had all three in the back of my '04 supercrew, and the seats fit w/ no problems. The 5 yr. old is in a booster, so it doesn't take as much room. I doubt that three large baby seats would fit too well across the back seats. The '04 is setup with the proper restraints for car seats, and also have the necessary straps for the latest car seats. If you do a search in this forum, you'll see many discussions regarding the removal of these straps by those that don't need them (they tend to kind of stick up in front of the back window).

I definitely wouldn't give up our Expedition for normal hauling of kids, but the supercrew is just what I was looking for to fill two needs; secondary vehicle for the entire family, and hauling stuff around on weekends and for work. Just wish gas wasn't so dang high!

I'm kind of ignorant being young and child free, but there definately is a place in the back seat of my Supercab to fasten a child safety seat. My salesman was explaining it too me and I kind of glazed over. No more info I can give, but it is there.

i'm with Doog,

I have the scab, I also only have a son that is almost 14. But, there is plenty of room for 3 car seats or boosters or 3 kids in the back. Just depends on how much truck you want.

The scab it tight in the back for adults, think of a 2 seater car, same thing, but for kids it would be fine. If I were you I would drive to the dealer and put the whole fam damily in the back of each of them and see what you think. I just of the opinion that the Scabs look nicer than the Screw (no offense).

My 2 ˘

I haul my kids around sometimes and I need the Screw. They’re all grown up now, 18, 23, and 25 year old boys (their still my babies). They are all tall, 6’2”, 6’4”, 6’5” and with the front seats all the way back they still have enough legroom. I have a 2004 Lariat. My truck before this was a 2000 Chevy Silverado 4 door which had lot’s of room but when all four of us were in the truck I would have to move my seat up cause their was not enough knee room for (my babies)

Speaking of kids, has anyone put dogs in the back seat yet, what is the best coverage? Has anyone tried that "Dog Hammock" thing that clips to the front seats and the back? A yellow lab will kill the black interior I need this thing covered.
