A/C question

Hi everyone...
I just started using the a/c on my new Lariat, it seems to be cooling alright(not as cold as some other vehicles ive been in)but, ive noticed that there is no condensation dripping from under the truck. every other car or truck ive noticed have had water dripping under it.
It's not in re-circulating mode, so there's humidity in the air.
Is this the same on your trucks??

thanks, cheers

I'm in Texas....We know if our AC works well because we die without it....All my vehicles leave large condensation spots everywhere they park....If your AC is working and temperatures are hot, you should see water on the ground. Look under your hood, make sure your AC clutch is engaging, and see if one of your AC lines is cold and condensating.

I own a 5.4 FX4 and I have not noticed the water dripping on the ground as of yet. I was supposed to check this out earlier in another thread in which I documented how my AC operated. I just got under the truck and found the drip tube outlet.

The drip tube outlet from the evaporator housing exits approximately two inches from the exit of the exhaust manifold between the manifold and the oxygen sensor. There is a 3/4 to 1 inch gap between the insulators on the manifold. Evidently it is very hot in this area.(The exhaust piping looks hot when it is cold)

I think that the water is evaporating due to the high temperature from the exhaust manifold piping, rather than dripping on the ground.

As long as the AC is cooling, I would not worry about it.
