biggest tires on stock

I have a stock 4x4 xlt and I was wandering what the biggest tires size that you could put on it are?

I am planning on getting 17x9 wheels and 265/70/17 tires but I am not sure if this will work.

Anyone know?

On a wheel chart 265's will work. Best would be 275-285's you can fit up to the 315-70-17!

I will find it and post it. I was on a tire mafg. site and found it one time a few months ago when I was looking at new tires versus size wheels.

So what are the specifications on the stock 17" wheels ? and what the largest tire you can put on a stock rim without lifting the truck.

I figured out what it was I was looking at. I searched the size tires I wanted and the found the tire and looked at the specs for it and it gave a chart of rim width range. www.tirerack.com

Check it out! Might be helpful to know what size wheels you need for tires your looking at purchasing.

And if you want the 315/70/17, look at your local tire shops and hummer dealers. You can find hummer h2 take-offs at a really nice price. But you better lift the chin up if you want 315s under it.

IMO the Nitto 295/17 looks Awesome on my truck. Big & Bold, but not Toooooo Much!

21/2" Auto spring with 1" lift in the back.
