Loose wiper cowling?

My wiper cowling is a little loose. When driving down the road, I can see it flexing up and down and when parked I can move it around with my hand. Also, it doesn't seem to be making a good seal with the windshield. There are some very minor gaps where it should meet up with the windshield.

Is this normal? Just wondering is this is something I need to be worried about.

They all move around a bit. As for the gaps, this is just another fine example of Ford's cost cutting. My '01 had a nice rubber seal along the cowling where it met the windshield. No dice on the '04.

Just hope you don't have to drench yours with a can of silicon spray and zip tie them together. This was the only way to keep mine from rubbing and creating a nasty creaking noise when it got below freezing out this past winter.

OK, good to know. I don't think I'll have to worry about the freezing problem here in Florida. But if I get stationed somewhere with snow, I'll keep it in mind.
Thanks

Mine moves around too, and separates at the center seam. The drivers side pops up next to the windshield, and I have to push down and then squeeze it together to make it line up correctly. Just a little annoyance in an otherwise great truck. I've been considering getting the dealer to look at it, but it does'nt make any noise and I'm concerned if they replace it I could end up with the squeak that some people have posted about. I looked at trying to zip tie the center, but haven't been able to see a good location to tie them together that won't be visible.
