2004 F150
2004 F150
I want to get a 2004 F150 and my parents approved to co-signing. The thing is that I am going to put a good down payment first but I was thinking of whether I should wait for 2005 trucks?
The other thing is that i want to get a single cab f150 4x4. what is the best price I can find one for?
Also do they sell a Lariat or special package for the truck??
I have a 2003 SuperCrew actually my father but I want to know some good prices on a truck. My ideal truck would be a 2004 F150 4x4 or 2x4 with Lariat package or XLT I dont know but basically what I am asking is whethere the prices range I am looking more into the single cab and dont know if I should wait for 2005?
Also is there alot of performance mods for 2004?? Especially a S/C
or T/C????
If you got time to chat AOL IM me at poschevy93 thanks

At this point in the game, I'd wait for an '05. I'm thinking you could custom order yours (no extra $) and have it by early September at the latest. Interest rates might be higher ... but then again, they might be lower. I don't see them changing that much. Steel prices may be going up. Well, whatever. Can it really change the price that much? Ask your folks what THEY think.
Also, Ford may tweak a thing or two (interior, exterior, engine, problems) by the time next year's model comes out. You'd only have 4-5 months to wait. To me, that's worth the new year model. That, and the vehicle's value will be higher when it comes time to trade/sell in the future. That year of difference can really be a good thing to have when the time comes.
But ... that's my $0.02.

There are rumors going around that Ford might "cut corners" on the 2005 F-150s to save some money. Apparently, the new F-150 costs quite a bit more to make than its predecessor. Those that own the 2004 F-150s might have the best truck that it will ever be. You might want to wait and go for a 2004 clearance price this summer. I also heard that options on the Lariat might be cut out in order to boost sales of the new Lincoln Mark LT truck coming out in 2006. The options they cut out of the Lariat would only be available on the Lincoln. Not sure what options that might be. Power rear slider? Rear sensing option? Passenger power seat? Who knows??
Were it me, if I could find a 2004 with the desired options, and after driving it a good distance, on a variety of roads found it completely vibration free, AND the deal was a sweetheart then I MIGHT consider a 2004.
Otherwise, I'd be patient and wait for the 2005s. My guess is that Ford will correct many of the "new" model peccadilloes.

look at www.kbb.com and see the invoice price and see what you can afford. the regular cab trucks are not available in the Lariat trim level.
personally, as a Lariat owner, I think the Lariat is overrated. save your money. i like the leather and the computer and the EATC, but it doesn't belong in a truck IMHO. nor is it all necessary. if I had to do it all over again I would probably purchase an FX4 or an XLT with cloth captain's chairs and less options. the reverse sensing system is an absolute must in my opinion. everything else is just gravy.

Brewmaster, wow a Lariat owner who would it retrospect step down to the XLT?! Good for you man, I'm glad people love those Lariats but I think some of that stuff is overdoing it on a truck...then again the price on the XLT was the absolute most I could afford, if not I might be crusing around with leather seats and all the extras too.
