Unhappy Lariat owners advice please

I have 2 days to decide on my order. The more I look at the brochure the more I want. Is it worth the money for the Lariat?
I can't stop looking at that floor shifter! I'm not a big fan of leather
( I have 2 dogs) but I like everything else. Any help would be appreciated.

try building other trim levels with the options you want and see what the price is. If there are alot of options you want, it might be cheaper to get the lariat. If you don't want all of the bells and whistles, get a different trim level and you get cloth seats and save a couple bucks.

To me the Lariat is awsome. The flow though design with the capts seats is great. I can understand the issue with the dogs because I have two 80 lb Black Labs. I went ahead and installed a Snugtop Shell and Bedrug in the back and they have a great place to hang out and it keeps my leather interior in shape. Take a look at my gallery.

I second that, have a look anyway,
I may be predjudice toward the fx4 though, but I just love its dash with the flow thru console,

You cant get, heated seats, memory pedals and seats, Homelink, or Auto climate contol with the fx4 as you can on the Lariat. I think that is all interior wise that is diff anyway.Besides color and instrument cluster layout.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Good luck

Is it worth the money for the Lariat?
IMO yes.

But, no shimmy, no nibble, no vibrations, no booming, no jouncing, etc., etc., etc.

Can you tell than I'm somewhat skeptical?

worth the money?

I have a 04 FX4 with leather and I am not(but am now) a leather fan either, but I do have two 70lbs Labs and I can tell you the clean up after they get out is really easy and quick. I was told that their nails would not puncture the seats, but time will tell....and oh yeah it was deffinately worth the money. My wife is sick of hearing me tell her how much I love that truck. Good luck.

Love the Lariat

The Lariat really is the best if you don't do any serious off road stuff, guys at work drool over the towing capacity, the interior (with console floor shifter - very nice), and on weekends it actually can pull stuff and carry hay bales and cow manure. What could be better?

I also have three dogs, smallest at 55 pounds. When I take them , and I have loaded all three once, I flip the back seat up in my Scab and they stay back there just fine - flat floor and off the leather! Also, the jump the to the front is large enough that I can keep them back there even when riding alone.

Get the lariat. I was in the same boat and simly could not get all the feature that I wanted in the FX4 and the lariat will hold up better in my opinion for residual value then the FX4.

I finnaly get to tow something with my truck this weekend, two weeks after I got it, so we shall see how she deals with dragging the two little porsches behind her. All 5000lbs with trailer or so. Took it to the dump last week and it went through the mud just fine, just got to keep reminding myself to clean the thing or it will look like every other work truck on the planet in a few weeks.

I got leather seats because I have three dogs. It cleans up a lot easier than cloth and the hair won't get stuck in the fabric.

In my somewhat biased opinion the Lariat is the way to go

I can't speak to the dog factor but I do have two kids who can't go anywhere in the truck without eating snacks. The leather/vinyl cleans up real easy. Like you, I was pricing out the different models with the trim and options I wanted and came to the conclusion that the Lariat was the way to go. The deciding factor was my wife who said "you'll have this truck for years, get what you want."

I love my truck and would recommend the Lariat to anybody. I put a Leer cap on my truck so I can take my Great Dane along. He's too cramped in the cab.

I love every thing about my lariat.

My 2004 makes my third lariat since 1998 and by far the most refined of them.

Go for the lariat!!

Yours is the first reference to "Homelink" I've seen.
What is it?

Thanks, Ed

Homelink is three buttons built into the driver's visor that allow you to control Homelink-compatible garage door openers. Think of it as a built in remote for your garage door.

I think only Lariat has homelink.
