How to remove seatbelt?
Anyone here know how to remove the seat belt portion that is attached at the top of the seats. I've got a set of Cabela universal fit seat covers. I would like to unbolt the seatbelt, slip on the cover, make an incision and re-bolt the seatbelt down. Any help is appreciated, Jerry
I had installed some neopreme covers last fall to keep the muck off the leather. I just made the incision like your saying but i just stretched around the belt box and tucked it in underneath. I never even looked at how to take it apart. You couldn't tell the difference but that was neopreme.
You need to use a pin in a small hole at the lower side of the "locked" end (at the seat) this will let you pull the belt apart -- you can take the cover plate off the to too by poping off the cover with a small screwdriver.
Good luck

Bigmac, I think you're talking about the bottom of the seat. I'm trying to remove the top sholder piece so that I can just re-bolt it over my seatcovers. Thanks for the info though. I'm going to see if the parts dept can give me a schematic of the seat to see how it's attached. I did pull down the padding enough to see a metal bar protruding from the top with a single bolt. I'm hoping it's as simple as it looks. Thanks
