Angry Paint Codes and Weed Wackers!!

Anybody know where to find them? The manual says they are the driver side door jamb but I don't see anything on the sticker that resembles a paint code, at least it doesn't say paint code as far as I can see.

My landlord went crazy with the weed wacker yesterday!!! He was about two feet away from my truck. Do I need to say more. Got the whole drivers side of my truck, from tail to snout. I have about a dozen or more nicks, dings and scratches. I've even got a few nicks in the windows.

I got sick when I saw it. I couldn't believe it. He was trying to kill the weeds and was actually digging into the ground so there was crap flying all over the place. I actually had rocks and wood chips on the roof, the freakin' roof!!!

Just had to vent a little.

04fx4Scab,

I'd be sick about it, too...and hopping mad.

Look just below the bar code that is on the door jamb sticker. You'll see "EXT PNT:" followed by the paint codes(s).

For example, my truck is Balck and Az. Beige, so it reads:
EXT PNT: AU AQ
(there is a good deal of space in between these on the sticker)

AU=Black
AQ= Az. beige.

Good luck,

I say take it to a paint shop and send the landlord the bill.

Thanks for the info JohnAndDar. I looked at that sticker for 5 minutes yesterday and never saw it. I must have been blinded by my rage.

Stupidity is no excuse to do that to someones vehicle. The landlord is at fault and by law responsible for repair. Make him pay for it or he will do it again (If you arent already).

Are you nuts! Don't settle for touch up paint if it's as bad as you describe it. Before you do anything, get three estimates from the best auto body painters in town. Repainting the side of your truck would cost way over 1K. He's liable for this amount and you can sue him for it if necessary. He also can't retaliate against you for it (as your landlord). Take your three estimates and give him the opportunity to fix it personally. If he says no, sue him and the owner of the building for the amount plus damages for the week your truck is in the shop.

Talking

There are alternatives should he NOT be a stand up guy and fix his mistake. You may want to consider some tried and true tenant revenge tactics - prior to move out date

1. fill all electrical outlets with sardines or tuna!

2. strategic dumping - best to attend local chili cookoff prior

3. start a ****roach shelter in your basement

4. you get the idea
