New guy (to the '04's) Question...

My dad just bought a new 4X2 Lariat extended cab and it's on order right now but he wanted me to get on here and check on the truck for him. Can anyone give me a quick simple rundown of what the current 'problems' or issues are you guys are having with the truck? Overall is it pretty good to go? Thanks.

I have a 4x4 SCab, and it's top notch. Zero problems....

Well... I did fill the tank yesterday and it cost me $39.50.... Other than that it rocks!

I ordered mine the first part of January. It took about 5 weeks for it to get delivered. So far no complaints or problems. Its a great truck and it gets alot of looks. Good luck to your Dad he should like it also.

Unhappy

I have 500 miles on a 30 day old 04 Supercrew 4x4. I wish I could get my 02 F150 back. That was a nice truck. I have had 3 windshields replaced due to horrible distortions. It's like a big wave running right down the center of it. I can't believe others aren't having similar issues. Now I'm stuck with an 04. If I could do it all over, I would not have believed that the dealer could fix the problem. I would have turned around and driven my old truck home. Everyone that has sat in the truck, agrees it makes them sick trying to look through it. If you plan on buying, drive as many as you can and find one with a decent windshield. It's not that noticeable at first, takes 5 miles or so. Then the eyes start to hurt. BEWARE! I might trade it in for a heritage or 2003 with low miles... I had 4 people looking at buying new F150s and they all bought something else after looking through my windshield.

I bought mine 10/10/03 and haven't had any problems. It's a LOT better than the '01 Expedition I used to drive. The Lariat's a sweet package

New guy (to the '04's) Question...

Had mine for about a month now. I'm scheduled to go back to the dealer next week for my only problem noted. The right front headlight has just a little bit of moisture inside of it. When the light is on it becomes a kind of fog and when it's off it becomes a few drops of water on inside of lens.

Traded 01 for it and while I loved my 01 it can't compare to the 04. Good luck with your new truck / Skip

5k trouble free miles on my FX4. I'd buy the same truck tomorrow in a heartbeat.
