Lighter truck would be nice but please don't touch the frame.
I'd sure hate to drive knowing I had a frame like a chebby. Carbon fiber parts would help and with the rising cost of steel may become cost effective.

A small item that wouldn't cost much would be splash shields inside the rear wheelwells to keep from throwing water and mud all under the bed.

How about they just get the VIBRATION -AC-FAILSAFE-THROTTLE
issues fixed on the current ones

That will make 99% of the buyers ecstatic

Electric-Folding Rear View Mirrors like in my mom's Sequoia. They help alot when you're on small roads like the one's that Puerto Rico. Thay also help when you leave you're truck on a street you would just press a button and thewy would fold and not worry about somebody hitting you're $100.00+ mirror.

Diesel motor V6 or V8 I dont care, I want fuel economy and 04 F150 look's.

The only thing I would add to to the 05 to make it perfect is a snow cone machine.......

The engineers need to put some more time into the suspension tuning!

How about a seperate AC for rear of screw that can be contolled by the driver. Today I did a vent test today I got 39,40d it was 80 outside not hot for Houston. I have no problems cooling my truck right now, but I'm worried when it gets 100d 100humidity. Maybe screwbuilder can get Fords specs on temp that comes out of vents. 04LARIATSCREW

There is enough precedent within recent Ford history (example, the Firestone recall vs. tire pressure stickers) to indicate that the engineers did their job properly.

IMO the OEM tires and shock selection underwent a last minute 'build-it-to-price-point' replacement.

My two biggest complaints about the truck so far is the super duper el cheapo gas door and that friggin huge Ford emblem stuck right in the middle of the tail gate. Gotta go...IMO. So far, I am unable to get past that. Petty, I know, but...

Maybe a factory installed spray-in liner (Line-X Type) would be better.

Tell them to make the console shifter (like on my new FX4) feel less cheapo plastic than it is.

More power would also be welcomed!!!

For the 2005 model year I think they should do this..

1. Try to trim off a couple hundred pounds off the weight. It would help with acceleration.

2. Side curtain airbags.

3. A 5 speed automatic transmission. Again it would help with accelleration.

4.I would say do something to make the XLT model look a little less plane. Maybe make fender flares standard or something.

5. Someone mentioned automatic folding mirrors, thats an awesome idea

6. Maybe lower the price

I like your suggestions better! I think Ford will eventually offer a 5-Speed automatic soon, since they seem to be adding them to most of their new models.

My guess is some bean counter wanting higher profits suggested they make the XLT look plain. I think the reason why Ford has been selling so many FX4 and Lariats is because the XLT does look so plain. When I first saw an XLT, I thought it was an XL. The 16" wheel on my 2000 F150 look better than the 17" ones on the 2004 XLTs.

As for price, some dealers are really dealing off the MSRP. My FX4 was almost $7000 off the $38,850 MSRP before tax. One of my clients just picked up a new XLT Supercrew for $22,995 (before tax) with a $30,010 MSRP.

I'm glad that i'm not the only one that thinks the XLT model looks a little plain, the supercab model especially (btw, I really don't mean to offend anyone out there, i still think its a great truck). Your probably right about it being a marketing ploy.

As for dealers selling at MSRP, i've had nothing but positive experiences at Ford dealerships. If I do get one of these trucks i'm going to wait until 2005. I've had several dealerships tell me that whenever I want to buy they will give me invoice. Of course I live in Omaha, Nebraska so maybe they are not as cuthroat here.
