First Impression

Well I have 115 Miles on my truck after receiving it last Thursday with 9.1. I know, a lot of you probably drive more than that the first day.

Anyway, everything so far is perfect. No Vibrations, no wind noise, no problems at all. I relish the opportunity to drive it.

My only concern is that the tank is at half, and I started with a full one. Of course I have been making sure the gas pedal is well acquainted with the floor mat. You know, I just need to know what kind of power is available when I need it.

Handling is superb. I just turned in My 2001 Ranger that I have leased for the last 3 years and that thing handled like a milk truck. I would go around a turn at 25 MPH and the tires would be complaining. The F150 takes it like a man, like it was on rails.

The ride is astonishing. For a 4x4 vehicle capable of off road conditions, I am very impressed with it's ability to make bumps disappear. I did take it down a 2 track, and it felt like asphalt.

This $2 Billion (development costs) Truck is worth every penny.

I wouldn't concern yourself with fuel consumption yet. That will improve as the engine breaks in. Hot rodding it will really suck the fuel too, once you are satisfied with the performance, slowing down will improve the numbers a lot.
Congratulations on the new ride. They really are a kick in the pants.

Not to be telling you your business, but it might be a good idea to wait on the floor mat for at least 1,000 miles to get it nice and broken in.

I have about 4500 miles on mine, and it seems to get more pep as the mileage increases.

Also, I started out with about 300-330 miles per tank ( I have a 4.2L V6). Now I get close to 400 miles per tank.

So, it seems to get even BETTER as the truck gets some mileage on it.

CONGRATS - and some pics would ROCK ! ! !

Worked with a CPT. Mckenna in the Army down at Ft Bliss, TX back in 94-96.

eauclaire,

Good luck with your fuel situation. I had the same problem when I bought mine. I now get 10 city and 13 highway and they told me that it would get better with time. I havbe 4500 miles on it now and it is 6 months old.

Hopefully, that "gets better with time" is right around the corner.

Outside of the fuel and other issues, I LOVE my truck!!!

Very good looking truck! I'm becoming more and more partial to the bright red. Enjoy!

Cheers.

When I see that picture of your truck and your dog, I can't help but think about National Lampoons Vacation when Clark leave Aunt Edna's dog leashed to the rear bumper and goes on down the road. Funny but sad too. Better be sure to check before you get going!

Wasn't that dog named "dinky" and liked to watch wheel of fortune?

I've never heard of Dinky. But that pup's name is Millie. She's a 12 week old Gordon Setter. She's growing like a weed. We got her at 9 weeks and she weighed 11 lbs. 3 weeks later, she weighed 17.5 lbs on her way up to 50-70lbs.

TF, I know what you mean about the Clark Griswald (sp?) incident. I thought that myself

I'd never be able to live with myself if that ever happened. She's got such an innocent personality.
