temperature display reflash

I've seen a couple threads about improvement in the driveability of the truck after the temperature display's accuracy is corrected

Does anyone know of a technical bulletin on this or any reference

My temp readout seems very low at times and slow to move in any direction

Sure would be nice to take some Ford lit (proof) to the dealer for a reflash

Cool Given to me by DR NO

this is a repost from my same question, print it and hand it to your
dealer service manager

This is a bulletin sent to all ford dealers.

17261 2004 F-150 BUILT BEFORE 10/6/2003 - AMBIENT TEMPERATURE READING INACCURATE AND/OR POOR A/C PERFORMANCE
SOME 2004 F-150 VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 10/6/2003 MAY EXHIBIT AN INACCURATE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE READING AND/OR POOR A/C PERFORMANCE. TO SERVICE, REPROGRAM THE PCM TO THE LATEST LEVEL USING WDS B27.10 RELEASE OR HIGHER

Your outside temp.reading may not be correct.
This bulletin is a re program of the computer system.
There is no charge for this.
Hope this helps

I don't think my is working right either. My compas say's I'm going NW when I'm pointed South? I going to get it looked at. And also my computer says when the truck is full I can get 722 Km till empty then I filled it up last night and it says 687 till empty??

remember too that you sometimes have to calibrate your compass. the instructions are in the manual since you need to enter the offset from the pole. the next step in the sequence is to drive in a circle so you'd want to do this in a parking lot.

to get to the calibration setup, press the trip odometer reset and hold. the first entry is for the offset, you select the number the corresponds with your region that can be found in the manual. then you drive in a circle, or three.
