I got an scab because I wanted a truck. A screw is just a car with a bed.

my 2 cents.

I got my Scab because I need space for keep personal belongins INSIDE, my Ibook, some magazines, some tools, etc. Also I think the rear space is very capable for most of 5'5" and under people.

The Sscrew was discarded because I have an ATV and i plan to add a bed extender for ADITIONAL stuff (gas, ice, backpacks, water, etc)

Wake up Screw haters. Somebody might think you are compensating for something . When's the last time any of you hauled loads like these? Both are 5.5 beds BTW. Oh, and a Screw can tow just as much as a Scab.

In the end you should get whatever you want Larry. If you routinely haul stuff longer than 8 ft. you should probably have a lumber rack anyway. If you are a weekend warrior, buy some tie downs while you're at Home Depot. My $0.02

I have a SCab and I love the looks!! Much more balanced looking, IMO. The back seats are adequate for short trips.

You would take a killing on your truck right now in a trade. Negative equity would kill you. Keep your truck...enjoy it. And in a FEW years trade it for a SCrew if that's what you really want.

The way i see it, if you have either the Scab, or Screw your a winner. Both are great trucks. Just comes down to what your gonna use it for, and personal preference.

No kidding, geez... It's like a great big crank envy convention in here.

I've got a SCrew, because I carry more than 1 other adult with me in the truck, often, and I don't care who you are, sticking a 6 foot tall person in an extended cab for more than a half hour just isn't comfortable. I can carry 6 adults comfortably, 8 adults if everybody is good friends. I regularly carry 4 adults and a 75 pound dog for two and a half hours at a time. You've got a snowball's chance of pulling that off with an extended cab without somebody going to the hospital or the vet clinic before it's all said and done. I also tow a boat two or three weekends a month during the boating season (pretty much right now through September.) Depending on where we're going , we're loading fire wood or camping equipment in the bed while we do it. Could I use more bed space? Sure, I could use an 8 foot bed. But the long beds in the F150s are just silly looking IMO. Also, I can put a safari rack up top, carry more stuff than an ext cab, and haul more people in my "...car with a bed."

Can you seriously tell me that I'm missing out that badly having a bed that's only a foot, foot and a half shorter? And that you regularly haul so much stuff that it would take me two trips where it would only take you one? Please. It's a good trade, passenger comfort for a few inches of bed space. And one that people who haul people would make.

Get what you want, there's points to be made either way. Don't let the crank envy sway your decision.

I need the 6.5 bed for dirt bike transportation.

What a little bitty dirtbike? Just throw it on its side and your all set!

If I can haul a 9 foot snowmobile and a enclosed snowmobile trailer with my Supercrew I can't see why in the world a 6.5 foot bed would be any better.

I guess it would be all right if you hauled all your buddy's stuff up for them. I prefer to drive with my drinkinn buddies..

EEEeeeYess

Previous points are good proof of why ford offers hundreds of cab/driveline/wheelbase configerations. What is best for your need is probably the best buy. The other buyers will do the same and Ford will be happy to keep shipping those fully loaded vehicle haulers. But one person said the screw is just a "car"; whereas a supercab it a "truck". Both vehicles are built on the same chassis and so if one is a truck, the other is a truck.

Another way of looking at it

When I had my expe with the 3rd seat, I could haul around 7 drinking buddies and me - the dd
Or 3 buddies and 4 sets of clubs for the weekend

Then the screw was 3 buddies complaining about no room for suitcases and golfclubs

Next will be a scab so I can have my dog with me on the pass seat and hopefully a buddy will buy a screw

I'm trying to set up everything right now to get the FX4, and initially i wanted the Screw, but I figured it would be more beneficial for me to get the Scab so that I can haul my motocross bikes in the bed...

04 Screws do look like tho. I wish I could have both.

What's better SCABs or SCREWs?

The answer is obvious...

If I cared about passenger comfort I'd buy a minivan!

(I forget who's truck that is...but man, I never get tired of looking at it!)

So how many trips did you have to make to get the rest of the load?
