Ford offers 6.8L V-10 for 2004 F-150

Ford just announced the availability of the 6.8L V-10 producing 410 BHP and 485 Ft/Lbs of torque. This engine is now an available option on all New body style F-150's for the remainder of the 2004 model year and 2005.

The V-10 has been in prototype production at Powertech Engines Inc. in Fullerton, CA. All preliminary test have concluded including production line design.

Ford regrets the lack of availability for the beginning on the model year, but is pleased to be able to offer the option prior to the 2005 model year.

of course you realize what day today is.....

Aside from the joke....

the 6.8 wasn't available in the previous model due to size limitation.

Would it fit in the new truck?

Maybe a supercharged V10 for the next Lightning? That would be a huge FU to Dodge.

Hey, if you can get 410 BHP and 485 Ft/Lbs of torque out of a naturally aspirated 6.8L V10, YOU should come work for Ford!
