Lariat 4x4 SCREW height

I'm about to break down and part with my '93 XLT 4x4 and order a Lariat 4x4 SCREW. One question is overall height. I know that the specs indicate a 4x4 SCREW will be under 6'3", but I wanted to be sure that this would be the case with a Lariat. I have to park in garages around town and several are 6'4" limited.

Thanks

fordburgh,

I have the same concerns whenever I have to go the the Main Line or into Philly (fortunately, not too often).

I've got a 4x4 Lariat Screw (still stock). I just measured, and the highest point is 6'3"...maybe 6' 3 1/4" max.
As a rule, I try to look for garages that have a clearance of 6' 5" or better, just for peace of mind. You should be ok with 6'4" clearance, as long as they are accurate in their measurements.

I also checked the antenna...it is 6' 11 1/4"...so it will get a beating.

Thanks for the measurement. BTW, I'm in western PA. The main garage that I use is 6"4' - I measured this morning. On my '93 I replaced the antenna with a manually retractable one from the dealer. I'm hoping this will be possible with the '04.

Parking in a 6'4" clearance garage would make me nervous, but it must be doable. Keep in mind that a full cap on the back may be a tad higher than the 6'3" spec, because of the lift in the rear end.

That would ruin someone's day pretty quickly. Truck cap with added ventilation, anyone?

Just as bad in parking garages:
Narrow, short spaces!

The parking here in DC is driving me crazy too. I want to lift this thing so bad, but parking in govt lots just isnt happening. But the truck comes first so it looks like a lift is in order and I have to find a new place to park.

I dont know if this is something you would consider but if you get the Lariat 4x4 screw you could always remove a leaf from the rear springs not only would it give you a little extra room in those short garages but it would level the truck to. It would be the opposite of lifting the front to level it. I would much rather go up but in your situation down seems to be a better choice.

Wouldn't a shackle drop do this? I don't want it looking like a street rod, but wouldn't mind getting an inch off the top.

I know the height of the Scab Lariat 4x4 is correct, my garage door is 77" and my truck just clears the plastic weather strip without touching it. Makes the truck about exactly the the height they say it is.

Pretty nerve wracking the first time I pulled in though!
