Is it just my imagination??
Hey guys I'll be heading back to the dealrship tomorrow to work on my deal. Boy that truck sure does look good sitting in my driveway though. However, as I was driving it home yesterday I found myself trying to locate that dreaded vibration I've heard you all talk about. Luckily for me I never felt it (yet!). But as I was so tuned into the truck trying to locate any vibrations/rattles I started notcing the truck didn't seem as quiet as the others I had test drove in the past. It sounded like I could hear a lot of wind noise around the windshield area, especially on the passenger side. It was a windy day, so I didn't think much of it, well I drove around the block tonight and there was more wind noise in that same area and the wind wasn't blowing outside. My truck is Job#2 so I wonder if that could be the problem, or am I just imagining things?
I'm sure the doors were shut, and the noise was coming from the windshield area. I just don't remember the other 2004 F150's I test drove having excessive wind noise around the windshield. It could just be my imagination trying to find something wrong with the truck.
LOL atleast my windshield is clear and not distorted like some of the guys experianced. Those guys literally experianced "double vision" when it sunk in how much their new ride cost them!
I can't feel any vibration as of yet, but I've only drove it from the dealership to my house (15 miles) then once around the block tonight. And trust me I was really tuned in trying to feel it. I did however notcie that there seems to be a hard spot in the seat right in the center. I've got the sport leather captian chairs, a descent sized guy at 6'2" 200lbs. Ford really needs to "back up and punt" on their seats, had the same problem in my 2001 superduty you just set on the seat not in it!

I haven't noticed much wind noise in mine. I do/did hear a very light high pitched whistle like wind whipping through something but I couldn't tell if it was something outside or a door seal. It only happened above 50mph. Either it's gone now or I haven't been paying attention. If it's still there, I guess it's not too bad if I haven't noticed it lately. Back to the wind noise on yours...I don't know. It could be that you notice it more because now it's yours and not a test drive? I really don't know. All I know is I tend to notice things more now that I own one. It's like I keep waiting for something bad to happen...lol I swear every beat up truck with a load of crap to haul around is in front of me every time I'm on the road now and I just KNOW something is going to fall out and whack my truck
Maybe I'm just paranoid?

I guess I was lucky when I bought
my truck. I got it back in September
before these vibrations were common
knowlege. I have not had any
vibrations yet. I would carefully drive
the vehicle before I bought it, noting
any unusual noises, vibrations, etc.
If everything was okay, I wouldn't
hesitate to buy the truck.

No vibration, no noise. My Scab was built 09/03.
I think the whole vibration thing has ocurred on some trucks, but is being blown completely out of proportion by some people - many who don't even own this truck yet and are just going off what they have read in a few posts.

I didn't start this thread to get off subject on VIBRATION's. I will comment more about the wind noise issue after I drive the truck some more, if for some reason I think it's excessive I'll go to the dealership and drive another truck to compare.

So let me get this straight. You were completely paranoid about the vibration, and your paranoia was a distraction turning your attention away from some wind noise? For some reason everybody here thinks that the 04 F150 is going to be like driving down the street in your mama's womb. It's a truck guys.....
wind noise
I have a week old scab and going to work the other morning I noticed excesive wind noise also . Only to realize my scab door was not closed tight enough . It was closed and no door adjar lights were on but could hear wind .Simply closed harder and it went away. There heavier doors them my 97 were.
