Got my truck!!!

7 weeks of waiting to find out they ordered my truck through "fleet"(longest way to order) and that they ordered grey leather instead of black. Luckily they had the same exact truck that they ordered in stock so i was just able to take that one. Fully loaded Fx4 flareside.

I cant say anything bad about this truck. The ride is unlike anything I've driven before. ITS AWESOME!! Cant wait to go on some long trips( lake george, NY...key west, FL..Vermont ). The interior is so nicely laid out its like im not even drivin a truck. I LOVE IT!!

Time for me to go take some good pics of it before I start my mods. Speakin of. Tomorrow Im goin by my tire dealer to get the nitto grapplers put on(possibly). The guy there says from having a smaller rim then spec for the tire, it will cause the tread part of the tire to actually bow a bit. He said it might cause weird tread wear. But thats all I would need to worry about. Hes gonna mount 1 tire and let me look at it to decide. I know once I see that tire on my truck Im gonna want it that much more. I know this has been covered before but anyone with the nitto grapplers have any reassuring words for me to sway me towards gettin them?

One more question. The add on guy at the dealer basically talked me outa gettin the bug deflector. He said almost everyone who had them put on also had them take it off because of the hood vibration. Is it that bad? Is it the whole hood vibrating or just the deflector?

Humm, do you usually flip people off when you excited? Could cause a problem in some parts of the country.

Just carefully remove your lug caps before you take it to the tire dealer. Alot of guys have been having problems with damaged rims due to sloppy use of a screwdriver to removes them.....

 

I've got the Ford high profile bug guard and haven't once seen any hood vibration. I'm still breaking it in though, so it hasn't gone above 65mph. Soon......

 

Nice truck ! Screw you too, lol. I live about 45 miles from Lake George. Where are you from? Still waiting for my truck , I ordered Jan. 15 and just got a vin and build date of March 29th. I don't know what those grappler tires are but the name makes them seem noisy already. Good luck and if I see you up in Lake George this summer don't be offended when I flip you off.

As for the bug deflector, I don't believe in them. Maybe they have improved in 10 years but my ranger in my gallery had the hood scratched to hell because the little bumper things came off and I didn't know it. I'm sure the one your looking at don't have the bumpers, but I don't take chances like that. IMHO

I used to live up in Albany for some time. Lake George is nice in the summer.

Yea it was kinda cool that I didnt have to wait another month for the wrong leather.

Blitz good idea. Myabe Id save myself a headache if I took them off before I drop the truck off.

Dusty good to know. Maybe the low profile ones are the only ones that cause a vibration. Ill prolly just buy it and find out.

Mike Im from NJ but I go out to Lake George twice a year to camp and boat. We launch from Rogers Rock. Theres a sweet cliff to jump off of. If you do see me and flip me the bird I prolyl wouldnt know it was you. I seem to get that alot from my drivin.

Nice truck dude! Get the bugshield. I've had one on for the last 4 weeks and have driven to Vegas and back reaching speeds of up to 100 and didn't notice any vibration. I think it really makes the front end of the F-150 look really sharp! Just got to be careful when putting it on. If it's not installed with a good fit, then you might experience some vibration.

 

Excellent...I get mine today at 2:00pm and I will have a couple FU(s) too :-)
