Will my slide in pop up camper fit?

If it's not too much trouble could someone measure the distance between the inside "lip" at the top of the side of the bed and the same place on the other side of the bed. Ford does NOt give this dimension on their website and 2 other side/side comparisons do NOt have it either? My camper weighs about 850 lbs so I shouldn't be overloading. My camper measures 64.5 in across at this point. Also could you take an actual measurement between the wheelwells ? Ford says this is 50 in but I need to KNOW. Tomorrow I will go measure one Thanks Ray

Hey Old Timer-

If you can hang tight, I'll get the measurements for you in about 2 hours. Someone may beat me to it, but you'll have it by 10:00 Eastern for sure.

Try to follow me...

Here goes:

I have the Extended Cab, XLT, 4X4, 6.5' bed WITH Line-X. Line-X claims that the liner goes on 1/4" thick (someone correct me if I am wrong).

Between the wheel wells, inside the bed...

...I measured EXACTLY 49 3/4". This may be due to the Line-X. You might be able to call it 50", and I measured 5 ways, stood on my head, held my mouth different ways, sucked in, had the neighbors dog look at it, and I would say it was 49 3/4" (Sorry for the bad pix, it is dark in Georgia at 10:00).

This is where I may lose you...
From inside bedrail to inside bedrail...

...I measured 62 1/2". HOWEVER, you can see that the bedside panel actually cuts into the bedspace a little. I hope you can see what I am talking about. Between these two "cut-ins", I measured exactly 60". Somebody may be able to tell you the measurements without the Line-X, but I would bet that if you used the 1/2" rule (1/4" on each side) it would be close. I personally don't think it is 1/4" thick...maybe just a hair shy.

Hope it helped. If not, email me or post back here and I'll respond. Atleast you have something to work with.

Thanks for replies!! Sure do appreciate. I did get a chance to do some measuring myself and got exact same meas that the "Ole Miss" plate guy did. Wouldn't have bothered except didn't think local ford dealer would still be open after Church tonite but he was. Anyway, won't fit, Darnit!! Maybe I can sell camper with truck I'm trying to sell. Camper width is 64 in. It would fit between wheel wells with 1/2 in to spare. Might could modify camper but would be a pain and camper is old anyway and don't want to put much money into it. Oh well, was ready to buy a truck and now back to Step One!!

Bummer about your camper.

My Pop-up, I think is going to work, I did have to build a 6" platform sort of thing to raise it about 6". It hangs over just 2" on each side. I really hope to have it on and functional this weekend.

From measurements, it looked like I would be able to drive under it, by the hair of my chinny chin chin width wise, just fitting between the Jack Stands.... lol

I am engineering a way now to make my Jack Stands 8" to 9" longer as well.

I went and looked and the Camper I would really like to have it $9k..... I think I'll figure it out. Mine weighs in at 1000lbs.

The newer campers for the truck start at about 1700lbs, with toilet and shower anyways. I also need to tow a highly modifed Jeep, so keeping the old good and light non toilet/shower equipped camper became the best solution for me anyways.
