Just turned 1800 miles and all is well...

Let me knock on wood before I continue, knock knock knock.

I bought my F-150 off the dealers lot on Saturday, December 27th, 2003. It has a build date of 11/03.

The only problem I've had showed itself a couple of weeks later as I was leaving work, a strange vibration sound that was coming from the area below where the steering column went under the dash. That must have been from the air intake not being connected to the wheel well, I reconnected it and the vibration has not re-occurred. Thanks to TCF for finding that for me when he had the same problem corrected by his dealer.

I have not noticed any other problem at this time.
I have run the air conditioner a few times this last couple of weeks and it does not put out as cold of air as my previous vehicle, a 2000 Honda Accord EX. Maybe a problem with the air, maybe it's considered cold enough. I'll wait until the warm weather really hits before I decide if it's cooling well enough. I couldn't keep my fingers in front of the air vent too long in the Honda, they would freeze, (or at least feel like they were freezing).

I drive 28 miles round trip to work and back, no freeways, all city/town driving between Lawrenceville, GA and Norcross, GA. The gas mileage after my last 3 fill-ups are as follows, 14.0, 13.8, and 14.2 as of last Friday. The mpg's seem to be getting better as I get more miles on the truck, initially was averaging low 13's mpg, it also seems to be accelerating quicker.

I will be taking it in this Saturday morning for the Line-X, $375 minus a $25 off coupon, $350. While I am there I am going to price the splash guards and window deflectors.

The main purpose for this message is to let people considering a new F-150 know that not all trucks come from the factory with problems, it's just the people having problems tend to comment more about them, I don't blame them, I posted questions when I initially heard the odd vibration I mentioned previously.

Thanks for listening (reading).
