Ford lost a sale due to F150 issues.
I'm not sure about the other makes but used car values have gone through the floor. With new car incentives and financing, the dealers are swimming in used cars that no one is buying. Ford typically doesn't hold it's value very well anyway.
I replaced my '93 Nissan Truck (winter ride) with a new Ford F150 since I couldn't get more than $6500 for my 2000 Mustang in trade on a new Mach 1. My Mustang only has 18k miles, never in snow, still smells new. No way I was "giving it away" for $6500.
I decided to forgo the Mach, Keep my current Mustang and replace my truck. I had to buy something. Too tempting with x-plan, ford credit discount, low financing, and an awesome looking truck calling my name in the showroom.
Now I have Red (F150), White (Explorer) , and Blue (Mustang) Fords in the driveway.

I just purchased my 5th Ford and I really like the product, the company, its history, and the people who design and build them but I have the worst luck chosing a dealer. The ones I chose seem determined to ruin an otherwise happy occasion. Will I buy a 6th Ford...it will be difficult to do so if nothing changes.
I'm off now to write the better business bureau about my former Ford dealer.

Well, KBB Trade in value on a 2000 Explorer EB with basically no options above standard and a V6 is $10,245.
Either your Explorer has had a hard life, or you needed to try a few more dealers....

Sold my 2001 F150 XLT SuperCab 4x4 that I purchased for 28,500 brand new for 21,500. Dealer trade was offered at 18,500. Dealers will offer you as little as they think they can get away with. You just have to be persistent and knowledgeable. IMO, once a vehicle gets more than a few years on it you will always be better off selling to an individual before purchasing a new one.
Man,some of the dealer'syou guy's fool with. Let me tell you about the deal I got on a 2004 mercury mountaineer,AWD,4.6,pretty nice ride,traded in a mazda tribute,2002 model with 29000 miles,got 17500,and bought on x plan,plus a 3000 rebate,and since it was a merc on the xplan,the dealer incentive,or a portion of it transfer's back into a cust. rebate,so I got another 500 off of price,thought that was a pretty good deal.
Amazing, on that trade in.
My dealer gave me $8000 for a 99 4x4 Ecab Ranger XL, that was beat all to heck for the last 5 years, I only paid like $13k for it new. It was an offer I couldn't refuse on the $23,300 F-150 I bought.

hellloooooooo
new model!
bugs that are still being worked out!!!!
wake up and smell the coffee. The redesigned Expy has been out for a couple of years and doesnt suffer from from the new model bugs.
I'm not buying model A because Model B has some annoyances.
To me the joke is why you bought the Toyota, not the fact that you did.

My brother in law has a Sequoia and he is constantly calling me to borrow my truck. It's a nice SUV for soccer moms.
I talked with a Ford engineer and he said they have a fix for all the vibration problems. Don't log on to F150 Online or read any other message boards for 6-8 weeks. I bet your "problems" will go away.

yeah, dealers have to make a living too, I went in to trade my 02 Tacoma crewcab 4x4 for an 04 Screw and the dealer says $17000 is best I can do, I put it in the paper and sold it in less than a week for $22000 to the first person that looked at it ( I paid 25,200 for it and only had 14K miles). My screw will be here in about 5 weeks, sell your vehicle yourself if you want decent money for it.
