Matt-

Is it one like JOHNANDDAR 's??

I had one in my '95 and LOVED it. JOHNANDDAR actually have the Line-X and the Bed Mat. The only problem I had with mine was after it aged (3 or 4 years) it would rub off on everything...camping gear, towels, your a$$, etc. It would rub off black onto everything, and it was a pain to get out. Especially when it was wet and/or hot.

I got the Line-X mainly to keep the bed from getting scratched while I haul stuff. Line-X also does not get nearly as hot as the mat. Mine gets exposed to the Georgia sun and the Mississippi delta summers.

The convenience of them is that you can take them out and wash them off. I spilled a 5 gallon bucket of yellow paint in the bed of my '95 and didn't know it until the damage was done. It pretty much stuck to the paint in the bed, but the mat washed clean with some elbow grease.

I honestly don't think you can go wrong either way.

Just my $0.02 (or $0.04 in this case )

BedRug

BedRug has many great things going for it. One it makes the bed smooth, it is custom formed for a specific model truck. It does look like carpet and basically I understand it to be plastic marine carpet. The type used in boats, but with a foam backing; thats the part that makes it so smooth.

Here is what I don't like about it. Dirt and water still gets behind the foam, and the truck bed. That holds dirt and water. It can still be harder to clean then a regular spray in liner.

If I was getting a lid of some type (even tho not weather proof) I would get the BedRug. Because I prefer to keep the box open, and exposed to the weather I will be going with a spray in liner.

With the very common 10" downpoors we get in Houston, it would have a tendency to full up with water, almost as bad as a plastic drop in. It does drain, but very slowly!

I went with the combo of a hard tonneau (leak proof), rubber bed mat (to protect paint and keep things like explosive gas cans from sliding around and go-boom from static electricity), and a plastic Pendaliner tailgate cover (no requirement to drill additional holes in the tailgate as with a rubber mat). Total cost for 3 items: $1178.

I have the BedRug in 04 SCrew and I really like it. For what most people use a truck for these days it will do the job just fine. Really depends on your use. It does take a little time for it to dry out after a heavy rain but the water does drain out. I have never seen water standing in it.

Thumbs up

I installed a Bedrug with a Snugtop Supersport Camper. I matched the bedrug with the existing rug in the camper so it is rug throughout the bed. really gives it a custom look and it holds up great. With the mat they install under the rug it is comfortable enough to sleep in on the rough nights.
