Ford Mudflaps on backorder...

As part of the deal when I bought my truck was a free set of mudflaps. That was six weeks agoand guess what? So I went to the dealer today with fire in my eyes. I wanted them today but they are backordered for the FX4's, or so he said. So here's the deal we made...I can get any mudflaps I want from anywhere I want and the dealer will buy them for me and install them-no charge, plus give me a bedliner for cost with free installation. I think I did pretty good!!

So any suggestions on mudflaps? What's everybody else using?

Good deal! I put on Husky Mud Guards from a local truck accessory dealer for $79.98 for all four, but I saw them online somewhere for $59.99 for all four ... you may want to search on Google, but I just said the heck with -- I want em now!

I ordered the Husky mudflaps due to a problem with the Ford flaps not fitting correctly with the black running boards. The above site was a good price $27.95/pair (of course price doesn't matter if the dealer is paying!).

There has been quite a bit of discussion on this if you do a search on "mud guards" or "splash". Some of the users have photos of both installed and they both look great!

What kind of problems did you have with the Ford mud flaps and the black running boards? I already have the boards and I was about to order a set of flaps (4x4 Screw).

Based on all of the info I've read here regarding the Ford OEM guards and the black running boards, I decided not to take the chance with the Ford Guards. I order the Huskys and they fit perfectly on the front. The rear guards fit OK, but not as tight as the fronts. I had to add some fender washers between the fender lip and guard to close up the gap.

http://www.autoaccessconnect.com/hucumomudguf1.html sells the Huskys for 24.95 a set, and I believe they charged $6 bucks shipping. You'll have to email them to order the guards for the 2004's, since they have yet to update their web page.

Thanks guys, it looks like I'll have to go with the Huskys!
