Question Door Post Blocking Visibility?

As a long time, self-declared "thread-junky," I am aware of most design complaints with the '04F150; however, I think this is a question that has not yet been addressed.

I am currently shopping/researching for a new full-size truck. The reviews, of course, all point to the '04F150 as the clear winner and having spent some time with the truck...I agree. BUT, there is one complaint I have that maybe all owners can help me with.

There are two different door widths depending on the model chosen: SC (with a wide door), and Reg. Cab and Screw (both with a somewhat narrow door)

I seems that if you are tall and have the seat all the way back in a Screw, then looking out the driver's window is completely obstructed by the door post. Has anyone noticed this? Has this been a problem for visibility? Do you have to lean forward to see out of the driver's side window?

Please help

myhre, I have a 04 Screw and I am 6'4". I have the seat all the way back to drive, but I can't really say the post bothers me. I have found myself leaning forward every now and again, but it beats having cramped legs. Actually, with the seat all the way back I can see cars in my blind spot through the driver-side rear seat

From my 01 Screw to my 04 Screw, yeah - there is a big difference. But, you get used to it, no prob.

Agreed that it's there, but it hasn't bothered me. Take one for a long test drive. Consider having someone walk around the truck so you can observe them. Personally, I haven't had an issue with it.

As with everything, there are pro- and con-. The "shorter" door on the REG and CREW cabs should make it easier to get in/out of the truck when parallel parked.
