How can ne1 possibly know what u hit?

You have to be in park or neutral to shift into 4X4 Low.

well if some1 could look under there truck about midway back almost like dead center there is like a rail that goes from 1 side of the truck to the other. i was wondering if nebody knows what that is. and if so is it pretty durable. it scrapped at like 5 mph so.

Did you shift into neutral on the transmission before you shifted into 4lo?
If you didn't , it will not go into 4lo. All in the owners manual.

Sounds like you may have bumped your anti-sway bar. Is it tubular and kind of a bent shape?

I think what you hit was the transmission crossmember. The thing the trans is mounted to. No one can tell the damage unless they can look at it. It is pretty durable, but it depends on how severe the impact was. If it is bent more than the factory shape, its possible it might need to be replaced. Also if you didnt stop and put the trans in neutral or park it will not change into 4LO. Good luck and happy wheeling.

I had this problem with my old 2001...the fix was to unhook the battery terminal for a few seconds. This resets the computer. Reattach and everything should be fine...except for the annoyance of reprogramming your radio stations.
