Truck Height w/ Daystar
Hey can any of you that have the Daystar installed on a supercrew give me height of the roof of your truck with the lift. I have a supercrew 4x4 that I want to put the 2.5" on with bigger tires on the my stock wheels. The only problem is that I may have a underground parking in Downtown Dallas for work. The clearance in the garage is 7'. I know that my truck sits at 6'2" right now. So let me know what your total height is now? Has anyone put the...I think they are 325/60/18s on stock wheels yet?

If the back of your cab clears now it shouldn't be a problem, you're only lifting the front to match the back. I think your problem will be more with taller tires. My Screw 4x4 with daystar lift is 6'4" between the doors with stock LT 275 Goodyears...

Who makes these tires? I'm also planning on a daystar kit when my truck arrives and I would like to keep the stock wheels but get a larger tire. I've been thinking about the Nitto 285's but now I hear they're not really designed for our stock wheels (but will fit). I originally had in mind a set of 305 goodyears like I've got on my SD but best I can tell they only come in a 16". I need 18" tires for the FX4 optional wheels.

screwag, pretty sure those stock goodyears are 275-65-18. They dont list any tire that size on their own website and Ford specs call for a 275-65-18, 285 is supposedly to wide for a 7.5 inch rim as well, I seriously doubt that Ford mounted any that size stock. The only manufacturer I know that makes a 285-65-18 is BFG AT KO. Dont let FoMoCoMe hear about this, he rants about people mounting 285's on their stock 7.5 inch rims he'd go ballistic on someone mentioning 305's on the stock wheel!!! Personally I'd love to shoehorn a set of the 285-65-18 BFG AT KO's on my stock wheels, 32.6 inches high and 11.2" cross section, dont know about the 305's, seems you'd be better off going with aftermarket wheels, but let me know how it turns out.

I talked to an Engineer at BFG and I think somebody else alluded to it in another thread as well, but he said you could sqeeze them on a 6.5" rim if you wanted without a failure. However, There is a good chance you will have irregular tire wear. I run my psi at 35 if you run higher you will have ballooning and therefore wear on just the center of the tread.
I have 2000miles on the tires now, with some off-roading thrown in there and stopped at the tire place and they said the tire wear on mine looks normal (knowing that if it wasn't I was going to buy rims from them). So I don't think they would lie.
