Don't take me wrong
Please do not take this post wrong. I am a firm believer in buy what you want and will be happy with, but I do have a question.
What is the deal with all these F-150 SCREWS? I understand a SCREW on the heavy duties, but just do not get them on the F-150s.
Personally, when I see a F-150 SCREW, I just see a SUV. Does this not also take away from what a truck is for?
Again, do not take this wrong, I am just wondering. Also, I did not buy my truck for what a truck was built for.
You guys rock
and have one on me
Mike

Personally, I like the SCREW's, but they are not for me. I looked at them in 2001 and again this year, but went with the SCAB. My dad used to tell me, "There's an a$$ for every seat!", and I see it being played true everyday.
I think it's a sharp truck, and to be honest with you, if I could get my 4-wheeler in the bed with my toolbox and not have to leave the tailgate open, I would be all over it. I know there are aftermarket items that will secure the load, but I like to have the tailgate closed. I don't haul it around everyday , but the 35 or 40 times a year that I do, it's not worth the trouble or worry.
I think that people that haul kids around, or go on road trips with more than 2 or 3 people total would definately benefit from a SCREW over a SCAB. There are a ton of other reasons. To be perfectly honest, the SCREW is just more interior to clean!!
Some people just like the look better.
Whatever the reason is, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And thank God that we live in a country where we can express those opinions freely.
God Bless. Peace out!

This is a tired, old , and utterly pointless topic of discussion. As has been pointed out numerous times, a Screw can haul all kinds of crap. Example, stone, gravel, sand, pallets of virtually anything etc. etc. etc. Is it ideal for a tradesman? Probably not, but neither is a stock 8 foot bed. I can't think of a trade where people haul things between 7 and 9 feet long exclusively. Most plumbers, landscapers, and tradesman in general are routinely hauling crap in lengths from 8-16 feet. You see these people on the road all the time. See those big things bolted on the bed of their trucks? They are called lumber racks.
this is the ideal vehicle for me---I have two small kids, so really need SUV to go with my wifes minivan for the winter---I dont do construction or anything, but use a truck several times a year for light duty---I have the best of both worlds in my opinion---I would rather go like this, than have an Expy and have to lay seats down, etc to haul---I love this truck, and it rides so smooth that we take it on trips with the DVD player, and man you ride comfortable---And still have the truck bed to boot----
When I was married, I had a second vehicle for most of my hauling. So, I drove Mustangs and other convertibles. Now that I'm single again, I need a better way to haul 4x8 sheets of plywoor, etc. I also want to be able to haul my kids (23 and 27) and, on occasion, even my ex. The Screw does all that and is just what I need.

Just curious how a Screw is ok for a heavy duty truck but is not okay for a light duty truck. In heavy duty trucks you bascially only see single cab trucks with sleepers. The only 4 doors are the freightliner and International trucks that are the medium duty.

I want to apologize for this thread. I did not relize that some of the senior members have nothing better to do than make some of us newer guys look like S***.
I do not go through this forum daily and try and find every post. Unlike most, I do fight for this country, not just sit around with my thumb up my a$$.
I will insure that anyone that I know and anyone I befriend will never interfere with the people here.
If I offended you: TruBluScru, Brewmaster, fatboy0103: then do not reply to the thread or let newbies like me know that is has been talked about in another thread, instead of your smart *** remarks. Was just trying to get a feel for people in the country that I have spent over 15 years protecting.

Sorry Mike, but you got me wrong....
What BrewMaster was implying was that no matter how much we may dislike what someone says or a Thread that has no meaning to a particular reader, we all keep coming back for more.
Why, because this Forum is a great source of information. You basically take what you need, and give what you have to offer, no questions asked.

OK, OK...now can I lighten it up a bit?
I like my Screw because when I go to the cattle auction, I put the cow and calf in the bed and the bull in the back seat...y'all have to keep 'em separated, ya know!

My primary newbie gripe, is those that lack basic 'netiquete', such as using the search function that is provided (top right corner, third button in), so that you can at least get a feel for the range of topics discussed, before jumping in and posting about something that has already been discussed to death. You really do cheat yourself out of the opportunity to tap in to what is an amazing resource; that is, the wealth of knowledge that has already been shared by members in previous threads.
To some extent, I can relate to the frustration displayed here, as like many others posting, I have taken the time to pen what I felt were thoughtful responses on a given topic, only to have value of the information shared somewhat minimized, by those too lazy to do even the most basic of searches first.
