Question 4-Wheel Drive Indicator?

When I switch into 4-wheel drive, can only get the "4x4 Hi" light on the panel to light up -when I switch to 4L, I should get the "4x4 Lo" signal. Makes me think I'm not getting the 4x4 lo gear. Does anyone else have this little oddity? Before taking back to dealer, trying to see if by some remote chance this is operator error.

I apologize if this is too simple, but to switch into 4-lo, you must have your vehicle in neutral(not park), and foot on the brake before it will actually switch. If this does not solve the problem, go see the dealer.

I was hoping for a simple reply . I've not had 4-wheel drive in my vehicles before, and only have it in this one for the slick boat ramps in SoFla for my 7500 lb boat. I've not tried to shift into 4-Lo from neutral, but will give that a try to see how it works. I'd rather be red faced here than waste my (and the dealer's time) . Thanks for the response !

Doug is right. Make sure you read the direction on shifting in and out of 4 low. There are some very specific measures you must follow.
It sound like they have a safety on it so you can't accidentally select 4 low without being in neuteral. I was concerned about my wife accidentally dropping it into 4lo at high speed.

By the way, you'll KNOW when it IS in 4 Low You'll see what I mean when you get it in 4 Low.
