I am also very impartial when it comes to vehicle manufactors...I have owned atleast 1 from all the major makers...Traded my 94 Eddie B. Bronco in for a 97 Dodge Ram ext cab...then in 01 traded that for my Chevy Silerado LT ext cab..Now i traded the chevy in for my 04 Lariat Supercrew...All of my trucks were loaded and all 4x4's...I cant say anything bad about any of them they were all very nice and had no major problems..But, this new Ford is by far the best "feeling" 4x4 i have owned...The steering is tight like a sports car..it rides like a luxury car..very smooth and quiet...and i love the console shifter and the updated look of the whole truck..I also read alot of posts from guys here that have had all sorts of problems with their 04's but i feel im one of the lucky ones because mine is perfect inside and out...As for power my truck wont melt the tires off but will lay black marks 7 feet or better from a dead stop and i have not noticed any shuttering rearend or clunking transmittion noises..There is no delay when i hit the gas pedal either...I only have 1500 miles on my truck and i get 15 mpg in town...18 highway..and 12.6 pulling my 3000 lb. bassboat...may get better as i get more miles on it and do a few mods like exaust...air intake..and the programer when it comes out...So...im my opinion the 04 Ford F-150 is the BEST truck on the market today.....and can only get better in the next few years when they find the little things they didnt think of on the 04's...Good luck with whatever you go with........

The best truck is the one YOU are happy with. This is something YOU need to decide for YOURSELF by trying them all and then making a decision. For me it just happened to be the new Ford F150.

As for my opinion....Hands down the F-150, traded in my 99 F-150 off-road reg cab with 112,000 miles and it was still good as new.
with no repairs done to it (other than oil changes, brakes ect) I too have bought and own other brands but my heart is with Ford, too me it's the best value, plus the truck is awesome, Crusing at 80+ is as smooth as silk...
