rotor problem on '04 F150

My '04 F150 has 6700 miles on it and I have a vibration when I apply the brakes. My service manager says the rotor is warped and will need to be turned. I think the rotor should be replaced since there are so few miles on this truck but I'm told replacement will be at my cost. I love the new F150 but this problem concerns me a little. Anyone else had this problem? What did you do?

My 04 F-150 had 6500 miles when my front rotors became warped. The dealer turned them and the brakes are fine now. This concerns me because are we new 04 owners going to have the rotors turned every 6500 miles?

My brake pads had to all be replaced and rotors remachined at about 4100 miles. Dealer did it no cost.

My truck just rolled over 2000 miles today, and I have noticed the brakes making an awful sound when I come to a stop, mostly when backing in or out of a parking spot. I have not left it with the dealer yet. I hope it is not rotors.

Could these problem be related to the problem with the excessive brake dust? Just a thought.

Mine did the same thing around 5500 miles. The dealer I took my truck to did not say they were warped but told me they were too thick from the factory (just had to laugh and left it at that). I hope this isn't going to be an on going problem.

I do have the excessive brake dust problem. The rotors should not be warped at these low milages. And if they do it again in a comparable amount of time I don't think the turning/machining will be covered under warranty. This just doesn't seem like normal wear to me. Anybody have any suggestions?

Well it should be completely covered under warrenty for 1year/36,000 miles, so if it happens again they will either have to fix them or replace them.

mine have squeaked since @ 4000 on and off. made a post but was told people would trade their shimmy for my squeak. now have @ 9700 called dealer yest. said bring it in while still under warr. 12000 told him as i was concerned it was under warr. til 100000. apparently ,don't know for sure, only 12000 for brakes? will go fight with them mon or tues and keep a post.

3 years/36K miles, not 1 year.

Sorry I must have been day dreaming, what I mean is for 1 year/ 12,000 miles your car is completely covered for everything that goes wrong.

6000 miles and had mine turned. There was a wiggle in the sterring wheel when I put the brakes on between 35-45 mph.
Service tech said that Ford makes them turn the rotors once before they can replace them.

In the owners manual/warranty book it says that brakes are covered to 18,000 miles. I sure hope that this is not an ongoing issue with the new F150 because I had a Pontiac that was in 10 times in 30K miles for rotor turns/replacements alternately.
