Are the 40/60/40bench seats as comfortable as the captians chairs???

 

I test drove both and really liked both. I was suprised at the comfort of the 40/20/40. It had more of a "captain chair" feel by its design than I had expected. It also was still very comfortable for my "honey" to scoot over next to me - unlike the '03 which had much more of a "hump" in the middle seat.

 

They are alot like buckets. The only thing I don't like is the center part doesn't move.

 

Check the photos in the brochure and look at the '40' portion of the bench and compare to the 'captain' chair/seat...and maybe it's just me, but I think they look exactly the same. It appears to be the exact same seat.

 

I did a side-by-side comparison.
They ARE the same seats, only difference is the center console.

 

That sure seems correct. If so Ford is charging $595 to put the center console with floor shifter in place of the center seat section. That sure seems a little pricey!?!!

Edit: Sorry $595 in Lariat and $300 in XLT !!!??????!!!!!

 

I think they are the same seats guess that answers my question!

 

thats why I ordered with the 40/20/40, when you need to seat 6 nothing else will do, and the seats appear identical, side bolsters and all.

 

you can't get the floor shifter in the XLT

 

The floor shifter is really not a nessessity only a want so I'm opting out!!

 

You are correct about the floor shifter. But you can get a center console without the shifter in XLT.
